Damn won't be able to get there at those times.
Had Ippudo in Fukuoka after many friends raving about it at the time. Cost over 1000 yen even in Japan. In that particular store it was waaay too peppery, as in laced. Found plenty better since then around there, even found a nice little 300 yen ramen shop that was decent. Yet to try it in Australia, is there one in Brisbane yet?
Only in Sydney and only within a 15 kilometre radius of the CBD. They recently changed their name from Ippudo Sydney to Ippudo Australia on facebook however so maybe they’re finally expanding interstate?

And you're right about better places than Ippudo. There's quite a few in Sydney if you're ever down here like Ryo's, Gumshara, Ichiban Boshi, Ramen Zundo and Yasaka
@kerfuffle: Wow you guys do have a selection! Totally no fair :( At least we have Genkotsu here in Brisbane, there's some others but Genkotsu is great value.
@ninjataki: Yeah definitely spoilt for choice in Sydney! All those places are in the CBD except for Ryo's who are at Bondi Junction and Crows Nest (there's also a Yasaka at Neutral Bay and an Ichiban Boshi at Bondi Junction)
@kerfuffle: I think I've managed to try Ryo's Crows Nest only once. Every time I pass there is a line going around the corner. :(
That said, I prefer clear or miso broths to cloudy fat broths.
@grizz_li: MOS is an interesting one for me. Lived in Japan on and off since 2007, back in the day omg I lived at that place! Though something odd happened, dunno if supplier related but since roughly 2013 the chicken was just so guaranteed to be full of gristle.. It was a sad moment, but I abandoned Mos, in Japan at least. Aus one seemed fine though very exe
There's also Gogyo in Sydney now. The burnt ramen in Gogyo Kyoto was the best ramen I've ever had! I haven't tried the one in Sydney yet.

I like Ippudo, but it's not my favourite. But for $10, it's a great deal! Especially since they're usually charging like $17 or something.
Went there yesterday. As a bonus stubbies are reduced to $5 from $7 in happy hour. The ramen soup is fantastic.
