I'll be straight with you and say do not purchase the R30929712. It is not worth that price or even a 75% discount. As I told Member quiteguy recently, Rado used to be Swiss Made but nowadays most of them only have a movement that is Swiss. This one doesn't even say Swiss, and the product page on Rado's website says nothing about the movement except Quartz. In plain English you are considering a blingy unisex quartz watch mostly made in China for an insane price.

Here is the same watch, much cheaper, from a reputable vendor …

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rado-Centrix-Jubile-Black-Ceramic…
    $1,212.11 - 5% code PICK5 = $1,151.50 + $40.79 International Priority Shipping = $1,192.29

… but still not worth it.

Lol, probably faster to tell the time with the $1 gb watch

Damn that does not look like a $1000+ watch to me

TL;DR: if you really like the watch, go for it.

A watch movement is a watch's heart and soul. Historiclly, people will spend thousands on dollars on swiss watch because of their handcraft in-house movement. They are more precise, better deisgn and quality. However, nowadays, most Swiss watches brands and owned by groups i.e. using same movement under different brand and priced differently.

Rado is owned by Swatch group, whch also includes a lot of other brands, e.g. Tissot. Most of them using same ETA movement, not to mention R30929712 is using ETA 955.112 quartz movement, which people don't usually willing to pay thousands of dollars for. So basically, you are paying 2k for the brand and the diamonds.

A quick google shows these cheaper watches are sharing the same movement:

Anyway, if you really like the watch, and are willing to spend those money, go for it. To me, it's just purely doesn't worth that much of money

If you like it go for it.

Watches are like cars, if you ask for opinion everyone will have one they like. And there will always be a better value watch/car out there other than the one you choose.

    • Yes feeling same at the moment. Doesn't it look premium. I think that if we want a sporty watch there are a lot but this looks different so i was after thiis one

  • Do yourself a favour and buy Omega

Chrono24 is good way to start

    Buy a Tissot or Omega

  • I will never get this hobby. Sneakers I kind of get but not watches especially with all the other alternatives but to each their own.
