the worst shoes ever. absolute crap- and if anyones misunderstanding - good chance you'll end up at the bottom of the stairs when they come apart.

if and when you ignore this opinion the hospital is waiting for you.

    • So, what's wrong with these shoes?

      • +2

they literally fall apart- last few years Merrell clearly changed their manufacturing.

A new company trading on an old brand effectively. Absolute shite.

    • I have 3 sets of Merrell World Passports, best damn shoes I have ever had. One set would be about 8 years old, still in solid condition.

      • +1

OLD Merrell - completely different to the current shite.

        • +1

Bought the new "shite". Completed a 100km walk on it and about 100-200km training sessions prior to that.

Reporting back to say no issues with the shoe.

          @aurotaro:

Just trying to stop someone else getting seriously hurt but clearly you don't get it.

        • +2

@petry: I get it. But your feet might not be suitable to Merrell footwear. Doesn't mean it's Merrell's problem. You need to find the brand that fits you. Just like how Merrell seems to fit great with me. But Meindl despite being a top brand just doesn't feel right for my feet.

          @aurotaro:

Try reading - 'when they come apart'

Apparently sole separation, heel completely snapping off , and sandal strap tearing away on 3 different pairs are according to you something to do with 3 different peoples different feet.

Why don't you try some other crap on someone else?

Actually your crap and Merell shite shoes are made for each other

        • +3

@petry: All good petty. You have a great day. Just try not being a douche for the rest of it.

        • One set of those is only a year old.

      • +1

Agreed. Am wearing the World Passports right now. Have a spare pair for when these wear out. Don't know what I'll do when I've got none left.

        • I didn’t realise they stopped making them. I have some really old light tan ones, newer dark tan, and black. Will have to search the net for remaining pairs and grab a couple.

I rarely wear the black ones, but I see they were being cleared out at $50 - http://www.merrellaustralia.com.au/world-passport-black-0043…

        • @snuke: Bugger, if only I had known. A few years ago I found one pair from ebay and the other from a Merrell outlet store in the US.

  • I like Merrell.. just not the limited supply we have here.

Add to that they block suppliers from sending things into Australia… I've found a few that do anyway

    • Can you please send me the link to those suppliers?

I would love to get a pair or 2 that is not available in Aussie.

      Thanks,

      • Amazon.com was the last time I bought 2 pairs

remember to tick Send to Australia

        lost details of past suppliers

      • Bought 2 pairs of Merrells from https://www.fitnessfootwear.com/en-AU/ about 6 months ago. Shipping was about $20 and they arrived in a week. Really happy as no one in Oz stocks them in my size.

  • Best to check the Mountain Designs sale first. Even after the 20% discount, Mountain Designs were significantly cheaper than Merrell (eg. Moab 2 shoes).

    • Even better. Get Anaconda to beat the Mountain Designs price by 10%. I got my Merrel Moab2 reduced from $280 to $140 - way cheaper than from Merrel with 20% off.

  • Code not working for me. Anyone else's working?

      • Are you ok mate? Happy to have a chat.

Edit: Added a full price item to cart. Coupon code "SHIPSTER20" is not valid.

    • Not sure mate. Simply putting it from an email. I doubt it would be targetted but could be limited to Shipster subscribers. Are you logged in or checking out as guest?

  • Thanks very much

I bought some merrell in Aus $180 non gore tex and after a year the toe plastic started coming away, glued it back down and still going strong. So comfy to wear. Then bought the gore tex model for $110 off ebay (uk supplier) and they are beasts, wear them to work everyday and still good as new.

Will never buy aussie stock again, such a rip off.

  • Merrell shoes have been the only shoes I have worn for the past 15 or so years. Unfortunately the styles that I have worn are not made anymore but I have managed to stockpile a few different pairs of new Merrell shoes. I do agree though that in general the quality of Merrells has dropped off in recent years but I have read good reviews on the new Chameleon (US model) which apparently is very similar to an earlier version of this great shoe. As was mentioned earlier, it is best to buy these from the US if you can as they are much cheaper from there (even with postage) and they have styles that you can't get here.
