  • Anyone know how good these shoes are?

Dress shoes are cheap, uncomfortable Chinese rubbish. No idea what the casual range is like but I wouldn't be paying to find out.

Based on my experience with this brand, you get what you pay for. If you want something lasting more than 6-12 months , you're looking at spending around $200 or more, and specifically leather shoes that have their soles stitched from the base. I've got a pair of Aquila shoes that I paid around $220 on special, and they've shown their worth over the years. Also cheap shoes look cheap as well as last a short period of time before busting open on you. If you have the budget, spend a bit more and go for a better pair of shoes and brand. You won't regret.

    • I have a pair that I've had for probably 4-5 years and wear 3-4 days a week. They are of course falling apart now but they were comfortable from day 1 (no digging into the ankle) and have been great. As others have said you get what you pay for, the pair I have were probably $100-120 or something. I did buy another JM pair from a sale similar to this one, at the ~$50 price and they were horrible.

    • Had a pair of boots. Sole wore down in a few months, the cheap leather didn't even get that far. I'd avoid at all costs

Posting back could be expensive if they don’t fit.

You have spent too long in the industry when you start using edm on public forums

    • First thought was "they're promoting via EDM music now?"

I have had my julius marlow dress shoes for 3 years now, wore it 3 days of the week, got it for under 50. Lots of people on the internet like jumping on the bandwagon to bash a certain brand. They are worth it at clearance prices.

same here, i have had a few pairs of dress shoes, on speacials and they are doing really well for 3 years.

  • In general their casual range is decent, I would probably stay away from their dress shoes as they dont seem to last at all. Would never buy anything from them near full price.

Most of the time when people say that Julius marlow/Aquila shoes being good quality probably bought them a while ago when quality mattered. Now all are made in China, doesnt necessarily mean it will be bad but quality doesnt seem to be a concern to them…

  • If you're changing styles each season then $39 is a steal (I paid $59 ugh), Yeah they only last a year but if you'd like some 25 year veteran RM Williams then feel free to spend $400…

    • Yes, but you have to resole them
