Map Coffee Capsules $3 for 10 Capsules @ Coles

150

I went to Coles this morning, and found this deal. Long expiry date (mid 2019), so you can keep it for 1 year stock ;)
Normal price is $40 for 80 capsules.

ps: it's compatible with any caffitaly system.

    Price match at officeworks $2.85

    • That's even better! I didn't know that officeworks also sells coffee pod.

Yeap they do both MAP and Moccona pods.. so whenever they are on special at Coles or woolies..get price match. I stocked up moccona pod for $2.63 last week..

Buy some damn reusable pods and make your own.

    • I haven't been able to find any damn reusable pods for Caffitaly and trying to reuse the plastic ones has pretty average results.

      • I had run out and was reusing the plastic ones as well until the Moccona pods went on special at Coles. The only reusable pod I've managed to find is the stainless steel one by Capsulone. Nobody seems to make reusable plastic pods for caffitaly.

        • I think the Caffitaly machine requires the pods to have a filter in them otherwise your machine will get clogged.

Other machines have the filter built into the machine. This is why you can use Caffitaly pods on a Aldi machine but cannot use Aldi pods on a Caffitaly machine. Having a filter in the reusable pod is probably not practical.

I own the original Cafitaly/ map pod machine. Been refilling the standard plastic pods that came with it ever since.

Once you grind your own beans, fill the pod to the top and tamp with an upside down full nespresso pod, seal with alfoil (crucial to crimp around the edge), you will never go back to map pods. Not in the same league.

Ps. Have a toothbrush exclusively to clean pod filters to ensure full flow through. Current woolies Vittoria deal will provide 125 pods for $15.

Where do I find this "damn" brand?

    • I would have thought the hassle of filling the pods would mean it wasn't worth the effort compared with an automatic machine.

  • Did you mean Caffitaly systems?

    • Oh, you're right. I fixed the typo on the description. Thanks!

I upgraded my Caffitaly/Map to an espresso machine - if anyone wants a machine to use these pods in, pm me.

    • I just upgraded too. The factory seconds at 61%-40% off were too tempting. I'm not sure how Myer can sell for more than RRP.

      • Yeah I went the Breville dual boiler and smart grinder route and couldn't be happier. Making coffees at home for $1 instead of $4 at cafes! I worked out I will pay for machine @ 2-3 coffees per day within 5 months.

    • When mine dies I will do this.

don't forget to turn on location services when using these pods.

  • So.. These are not compatible with Nespresso machines?
