Oppo A77 or A73 or What Else?

I have to buy a smartphone tomorrow with 20% eBay sale. I am looking for a good looking phone for basic use like internet surfing, music, videos etc. I think Oppo A73 or A77 are good ones. Do you have any other options in the same price? I am willing to pay around $350. I can buy any brand phone. Thanks.

Neither. Don’t buy Oppo, owned the R9s and R9s+ as well as the A57(??) and they were all terrible. The phones themselves were great quality, but the firmware on them were just infested with bugs and missing features. ColorOS was terrible. It was trying to hard to be the iPhone experience, and it isn’t. So many things were broken or not working in the OS that I ended up refunding all 3 phones where I got them. Oppo didn’t want to help. Their own forums are full of spammers and the issues I was having went back almost 2 years from previous versions of ColorOS.

Don’t do it. Buy something else. Hell, I would buy two tin cans and some string and use that before I bought another Oppo product…

Edit: my suggestion in this price bracket would be the Motorola G5s Plus for $405 before the sale (about $325 with discount) Wife has the model previous to this and it is a sensational phone. It’s almost a stock Android experience. Pretty sure this would have NFC. Comes with dual SIM. But the user experience is so much nicer on the Motorola than what the Oppo ever was…

    • Thank you very much. Highly appreciated.

I'd suggest the G5s Plus as well, that's a decent price for Aus Stock since the G5s is a newer model. Previous deals

I've been reading good reviews of the ZTE Axon 7. I believe it's discontinued now and you can pick up the silver 64GB version at Officeworks for $299. I'm grabbing one today for a friend. I to almost bought an Oppo but luckily did some research first and found negatives comments like pegaxs' everywhere. Good luck.

    • I will check it as well. Cheers.

I have the A57 - I do not use all of the features/apps on it and I seldom use the camera but was told it was the best selfie camera and the specs bare that out. I do check email, surf the internet and use the phone on it. I am very pleased with it. No complaints.
And from what I can tell the main difference between it and the A73 is the size and price. You can save about 50.00 by getting an A57 with a slightly smaller screen and no quick charge. But I have to admit being able to charge the battery quickly sounds nice. And I think the finger sensor on the A73 might be more enhanced based on what has been written about it. Is that worth the extra 50.00? maybe, maybe not.

You can get both of them at Mobileciti, com and the price includes a 32 micro SD card ( $296.00 , $356.00 and free shipping)

(they have both in black too)
Not sure about both phones but the A57 includes in the box a clear plastic back case cover
