  • Will it only work for phones listed in drop down box?

  • It's a good game, very diablo-esk.

  • Not available for Desire HD.

    • HTC Desire HD = HTC Evo 4G, so I can't imagine why it wouldn't work.

I've got a Nexus One but I'll be trying the HTC Desire/Bravo download since it's pretty much the same hardware.

EDIT: Ah poo, the site seems to autodetect which phone you have when you go through the SMS link that they send you. $6.60 for me. I'll pass hehe.

      • Worked for free for me with my nexus one

      http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Dungeon+Hunter+HD+v3.4.2+v3.4.7+v3.4.8

      You need version 3.4.8

Put your mobile number in to this site for morals, then get that version :)

        Are you advocating software piracy?

With the rather specific version numbers, it's not exactly LMGTFY-worthy. Thanks, though.

  • EDIT: Got the game and it works great! =]

  • Works for me with HTC Desire

Can someone just post a link to the .apk? Stuff giving these guys my ph#

    • You can always buy it and then you wont give your number

    • Why vote this down? Is it worth having your phone number sold to marketers for a free game?

    • Agree with elitistphoenix and PeterB87

This is not free, you pay by giving up personal info to be spammed endlessly.

      • But that happens whenever someone is giving something for 'free', they just want your details. In any case no one forces you to get it.

The game also requires permission to edit, read and receive SMS and MMS and SEND SMSs.

Why does this single player game require the ability to send SMSs?

        • +1

I feel sad when people don't understand the way Android permissions work but feel free spread the paranoia. As a developer, I understand that some permissions might scare people off like a Live Wallpaper requiring Internet permissions. This is just a disclaimer sort of thing so we can use ads in the Live Wallpaper settings. And ads require Internet connection.

If I had to make an educated guess, Gameloft probably use SMS to verify your device through IMEI to make sure you receive the correct version for your phone, and that you don't misuse their offers by sharing the downloaded APK with other people.

'This is not free, you pay by giving up personal info to be spammed endlessly.' They just use SMS to send you the link, not to spam you. I think sometimes people are way too paranoid. When it's so easy to pirate on Android as pointed by elitistphoenix, developers like Gameloft are forced to do their business through this screwed up manner instead of just through the Android Market.

        • WaveSecure has the same permissions with SMS. It's basically for Wavesecure to send SMS to track the location of your device and then receive sms to perform functions like lock and stuff. Gameloft probably does the same sms thing for IMEI. Don't be paranoid about permissions, especially when the source is trustworthy.

  • Damn why can't I ever find my HTC Aria in dropdown menus? Can't find its other name liberty either. Can I just choose another?

  • Nice, about time some free Android games

  • Excellent works great….thanks

  • Not getting the SMS on my Galaxy S… :/

    Nice find though :) +1

    • Got mine as soon as I pressed ok

  • Odd. The moment I select Galaxy S, the free game changes to Asphalt 5 (which already comes free with Galaxy S phones from Samsung Market). Going to try again. Good find, OP!

    • I tried in Google Chrome which gave me the above mention odd behaviour. Tried in Firefox, all good. THanks OP!

  • My htc desire is only correctly detected in skyfire. Wtf?

There's no download link, just the "buy" link.

  • Yayyy, finally something to use some data on!

  • Nice was looking for this game… couldnt find it in the market

  • "Sorry, but there are no available game for your mobile." Your Model: HTC Desire HD.

    Blah!

  • They are reporting ongoing technical issues on their blog with downloads. I have tried twice on my HTC Desire and gotten a Buy link one time and a message "Sorry there are no HD+ games available for your Unknown as of now. We are working on it. Come back soon to check again our offer!"

I have heard that Gameloft have had a lot of content delivery problems, even after people have paid for the game. Bad Gameloft!

    • Fixed problems with free Dungeon Hunter download by switching on "Mobile View" in browser settings! Hope this helps others! I do have a compatible phone too.

  • The reason why Gameloft is doing this is because of piracy in the Android market. But if you ask me, it's doing stuff like this that encourages people to really pirate - not making it readily available. Just enforce license checking that's available to all android devices 2.2 and onward. If the game is well worth it, people will definitely pay.

  • Never got it, but the offer is great.

  • No good, I only get a "buy" link.
