Negotiating Expired Deals Instore ?

So today i was at jbhfi with a friend for lunch and realised my new laptop coming had 1 usb port so i wanted a mx master 1 (bluetooth )
and noticed that there was a expired deal , for curiosity i asked the store worker if theyd do the deal and they ended up doing it cheaper than the deal (not sure why but i wasnt saying no ) apparently she said jb has a 1 week policy where they match expired deals if its been <7 days

has anyone else used this policy before or heard of it ? just curiosity

There was enough margin, they wanted the sale, so they discounted it for you.

Deal, or no deal, you would have probably gotten it for that price anyway.

  • Agree with Drew22. Sounds like some fluff they say but reality is if there's positive margin, they'll do the deal especially if it's an item at heightened risk of aging/inventory obsolescence.

  • thanks guys makes alot of sense when you put it like that , still happy i got a bargain :) the 2 is useless for the price difference for me

I don't know about the 7 days part but I've had good experiences with JB and HN dropping prices to match a previous deal if asked but again it all depends on who you get that day. Some will choose to say No immediately but asking around will eventually get you an SA who is willing to ask a Manager and that's more likely to result in a Yes.
