No train running in Sydney on 29 January

Make alternative travel arrangement. I am not sure how buses will cater for someone who lives in Penrith and works in CBD. Probably they will be spending half a day in bus.

Adding few poll options to see what people are planning to do.

You think so? Tbh I think 6% increase is too much. They already has $100k salary ffs

      • Fk it. Gonna put in annual leave.

        Is union fees 1%?

Tbh I think 6% increase is too much.

Why? It barely covers 2 years of inflation reducing the money they're paid.

        • found the train driver

        • Well considering they're asking for 6% a year for the next four years, I reckon they'll pretty much have inflation covered.

        • @Seraphin7:
24% pay increase over four years? That's a bit rich.

What are they doing to increase their performance over four year?

        • @whooah1979: That's right! Let that sink in for everyone out there doing it tough in business. A pay rise of 24% over four years.

What are they doing to increase performance? Mate, this is unionised labour with government effectively as the only customer.

Wow that is high but yeah I agree. Then again, I probably wouldn't want a minimum wage worker responsible for the lives of a few hundred people.

…With this level of salary/increases maybe I should change jobs….

Another poll option could be work from home

i will use this comment as the poll option. +1

  • Is there a limit of what the unions/workers can demand? If not why didn’t they go out with 20% then negotiate down?

  • +7

    Maybe OzBargain should unionise too.

Just have a day where we protest against eBay sales and the price jacking as soon as the sale starts.

Demand that our Xiaomi products, Eneloops and SIM cards get discounted.

  • Work from home.

  • take the day off and have a really long weekend.

that's probably why they chose 29th as the day to strike.

  • Woohoo! 4 day weekend!

There should be "late for work" and "work from home" options.
