'Woolworths Money' equivalent app for Coles gift cards?

Woolworths Money app does a fine job of scanning Woolworths eGift cards, saving them (along with PIN details) and keeping track of their balances in real time. Is there any equivalent app for Coles eGift cards? I use Stocard app for all cards in general but it doesn't save PIN, nor it tells the remaining balance obviously.

Thanks in advance for sharing the info.

Woolworths Credit Card excels in all areas, Coles have to do catch up in this area and with their gift cards.

    • Thanks. I assume you meant 'Woolwords eGift Cards' and not 'Credit Cards'.

      • I meant what I meant. The woolworths ios and android phone app is a comprehensive app which rolls together their credit cards, egift cards, rewards card and plastic gift card.

Coles have separate apps for each of their products.

Woolworths now has the Rewards Card wallet app for ios, which now negates stocard as a method of applying the rewards benefit at the check out, just tap and go before you pay, no need to fumble for barcodes.

I use Stocard and set the card icon to a picture of the PIN. Then put the balance in as the name of the card. You still need to manually update the balance after making a purchase.

I do the exact same thing

  • use google sheets

  • do coles have the 5% off when buying a e gift card like woolworths?

  • I store the Coles Gift Card details and an image of the barcode in Google Keep. When I am in the store I can just scan the barcode from the screen. Have to track the balance manually, though.

    • Google Keep is same as Stocard. I wish Coles had an app like Woolworths Money that can save PIN as well as show balance.

      • They should really roll it into the flybuys app.

  • Would be great to have this functionality in a Coles app.

What I do is store them in Samsung Pay as a rewards card, the camera reads the barcode on your egiftcard and then stores the barcode number which can then be scanned at the checkout. You'll still have to track the PIN and balances yourself.

    • That's essentially what Stocard, Google Keep or any other barcode storage apps do. The main issues are balance check and PIN :-). I would assume that when you pay with egift card at Coles, the receipt will have the remaining balance on it though I am not sure as I haven't paid attention ever.

      • The Coles receipt does show the balance remaining on your gift card. So you can just update it after shopping.
I use a mix of Android Pay (stores the barcode and pin) and pdf copy on my google drive account.

        • You don't have to do that. App like Stocard can hold all your cards and notes such as PIN etc for this one. Non-availability of the balance is the only issue for which you need to check the receipt after Coles purchase.

  • when you pay with egift card at Coles, the receipt will have the remaining balance on it

    Yes.

I was wondering the same thing and I found this thread really helpful.

    Thanks, guys!

It looks like Coles is totally beaten by Woolworths in this particular area.

Yes, I don't think Coles is as forthcoming with discounts as Woolworths is.

My take is that Woolworths is happy to give away 5% discounts willy nilly if it guarantees them customers to be locked in.

I used to be a loyal Coles shopper (as my partner was a team member there, so we used to use the 5% discount), but to be able to get WISH eGift cards at 5% off and get 3 points per dollar, it was a no-brainer to switch over to Woolies.
The app just makes things so much better as well. I refresh my app while I'm literally making a transaction at Woolies and I see the balance drop accordingly. The integration is amazing.

Woolies have really won this one, well until Coles comes along and offers a better app, which I'm really doubtful of.

      • Funnily enough, not many people are aware of 5% discount in WISH eGift cards and the app itself. Of course, I am not referring to those active on this website.

I use Gpay to store all my eGift cards, you can put them under Passes>Gift Card. It lets you quickly record and adjust the remaining balance, it will also bring up the barcode ready to scan.
