Tyres for 2015 Subaru Liberty 2.5i Prem

Hi Ozbargainers :)

Just after some advice as I've never really had a decent car to worry enough about tyres and really I have no idea what I'm choosing. From what I have discerned, there are some reputable brands and many not-so reputable brands and have narrowed down to the following in required size (225-50-r18) thus far from my own research:

Hankook Ventus V12 EVO K110
- http://www.hankooktire.com/uk/passenger-cars/hankook-ventus-…

Bridgestone Turanza T001
- https://www.bridgestonetyres.com.au/turanza-t001

Both seem to be around the same price point (~$200ea), with reviews pointing to the Hankooks being more geared for sport/performance.

Just wondering if anyone out there has a preference or could relay any personal experience with the above? Or maybe a better suggestion around the same pricepoint? Or maybe I'm missing something?

Thanks in advance!

  • How do you drive? More like a grandma or more like a race driver? If you drive more like a grandma, you probably aren't going to get much benefit out of more expensive tyres, but there is some advantage in not getting the cheapest no-name brand tyres.

    • Somewhere in between I guess. Sometimes I like to give it the boot, not all the time though.

Would you have a suggestion of something middle of the range that might suit?

      • The question should be where do you drive. If the majority of your driving is done in the city or straight roads you aren't going to get any benifit from performance tyres.

  • +2

    Bridgestone RE003

    • Nor made in size required and seems to be well over $300 a pop going off the RE050

    • Got this recently, surprised at the tread (big chunky squares, still has massive grip - unlike my previous pirelli p zero that had intricate design)

  • Pirelli Verde All Season

    • SUV tyres? I'm not sure anyone is actually reading my post..

      • yeah my bad - got the outback confused with liberty.

        • All good! :)
