Was just browsing the Kogan website and was looking at purchasing the Xiaomi robot vacuum and I have just witnessed the price increase 3 times….. what the hell is going on. How can this happen?

the price increase 3 times….. what the hell is going on. how can this happen

Prices changing due to stock availability and forex rates are normal.

    • i understand that however i have never seen it happen in such a extremely short time frame. we are talking 10-15 minutes tops

      • Forex change every second.

CNY is in four weeks time. There could be a rush for stock by big retailers. It's all part if a global marketplace.

  • Price doesn't seem to vary too much according to Price Hipster

Could just be a site error

    Anyway I'm sure there's cheaper places…

    • hoping its site error, might hold off till tonight and see what happens.
      annoying though.

    • Maybe pricehipster is logging once a day. OP is talking about ~15 minute increments.

  • CNY is in four weeks. That may also affect the fob price.

Maybe they're pricing their products in cryptocurrencies… need to change the price every few minutes :-)

  • According to one Australian seller on Ebay, the stock available is quite limited. I know this because I asked them for a sale, and they said they couldn't do one at the moment because they couldn't get in enough stock to support doing one.

I suspect Kogan have manipulated their price upward as their stocks have depleted.

CNY is when chinese suppliers also go to take a holiday, so stocks will dwindle during this period and if there's lack of stock, they'll raise prices.

    • I thought everyone knew that?

  • Would you be complaining if the price dropped 3 times in 10 minutes?

  • Surge pricing

  • the must have been adjusting their prices to online prices - down when they are down and up when they are up - Haven't you realized yet we are the most Price Gouged Country in the World. Let's give you some examples- When CBS bought out Leo Fender supplies to Australian Importers were cut. By the time they set up the musical Instrument Division all Fender stock had been sold and when CBS Musical Instruments opened there was an almost 50% hike in Retail Prices and Retailers Margins had been reduced. Then National Panasonic sacked their Australian Distributor and took over Distribution themselves and the prices had hiked -Sony and other followed all Australian Distributors sacked and price hikes. BOSE really protect their Australian prices all their retailers around the world are Authorised - If any USA retailer or retailers in other countries where prices are much lower and a retailer sells to an Australian in Australia they loose supply from Bose. In the USA there are forwarding agencies that even supply Australians with Credit Cards so they can buy in the USA from suppliers that will not sell to Australia - One American company hunts out the address in the USA that Australians give and sends retailers memos telling them if they ship their product to that address they lose supply. All these Foreign Companies also use this to cheat Australia out of tax. They invoice their Australian Company with highly inflated prices and their Australian companies make very low profits -the profit is made by parent company on Invoices. This scam was made possible when Tariffs were removed.

    • great insight…

      • Could have been a lot greater with a few paragraph breaks.

        • there is always a winger around

        • @RonaldR: More of a mobile mid-fielder myself.

  • All web sites are living ceatures. Depending on where you go and where you been the price can change accordingly. Usually if you close your browser, clear out the cookies and start over and follow the same path/tracks you should repeat the prices

  • yeah, always browse shopping in private mode, otherwise i find when i go back to buy the price has increased
