What Do You Think of Kogan Mobile?

After surfing OzBargain, I noticed there were a couple deals for other phone plans…. and everytime I think: Isn't Kogan Mobile better??? My current plan is the one that costs around $10 a month prepaid.. for unlimited calls and text and 1GB of data. Super good for me because I only want it for checking bus timetables, snap, Insta or just some internet browsing. Plus they keep upgrading your data like twice a year.. at one point I had 1.5GB, and another point I had 2GB last year. Plus with the whole gumtree deal thing, it brought the price down from $120 to $90 a year. That's really good in my opinion. What do you guys think??? Do you use any other plans with cool deals or do you prefer Kogan?? Just a casual forum topic.

  • What do I think of Kogan Mobile? Vodafone.

I don't get great service (sometimes it's not even that usable) with Vodafone as is, so while I think it's a good deal I am much more inclined to go on something like OVO's $9.95 a month - 1GB of data, unlimited texts, $200 worth of calls.
Much better than Kogan because it's with Optus so I get better service, I don't use calling much, 1GB is sufficient for me as I am on wifi most of the time I am out and OVOPlay gets me (limited) data free entertainment, but I'm a simple being almost anything can entertain me.

  • They have been great and I'm curious to see how their NBN service will be. I would actually switch over if service & price are on the same standard as their mobile business.

  • I used Kogan mobile around 2 ?months now. Great service. No drop outs when on the road. If you I eryour data you can for a small amount for additional data.

  • Do they have voLTE HD calling yet?

    • Vodafone postpaid has VoLTE on my Note 8 but I dont know if Kogan allows it.

      • No they dont yet

  • I have been using Kogan mobile and have to say in office buildings (I work on level 6 10 mins from Perth CBD), I'm lucky if I get 2 bars, always have to go out to the balcony to talk on the phone properly or to the nearest window for a page on 4G to load :-s, wonder if anyone has better connection in similar situation

  • I used it once and it was as slow as a wet week, it couldn't even successfully bring up a single webpage, yet when I connected to my Optus hotspot it ran like a dream. Never touched Kogan since.

  • Its very simnple. If you get good coverage on vodafone in the areas that you live and travel/work, then go for it else go with optus/optus reseller or telstra/telstra reseller.

For me optus/telstra/vodafone are roughly similar and i am getting 23 GB for less than $25 so its a no brainer to go with kogan. And as for those whining about international calls, there is such a thing called voip and you can even use a voice gateway number so that you can use voip without using voip.

    • As above depending on where you use it most for coverage been using it just over a year and no regrets got around 5 dropouts thru out the year on the internet But by loging out then in usually fixes it.

  • Never had a problem, cheap and simple to port over from Tpg

  • I'm with Aldi Mobile: Telstra network ftw.

  • Love Kogan, whole family on it. I use different vouchers so the 16gb cost $180, the 6g around $135 and 2gb $85. Great value! What’s the gumtree deal?

  • Hello all

Anyone have any idea of when the big Kogan discounts will come up again?

I finish my Telstra contract in a month and looking to move to a Kogan XL plan - but would rather not spend >$500 if I can avoid it…
