Wire Lamp Holder - Need Electrician for light fitting ?

I have a MR16 GU5.3 12V spotlight fitting and would like to change it over to E27 lamp holder.

I've pulled out the transformer as per photo below.

Is it as easy as removing the black & red wire from the transformer and screw them into E27 lamp holder ?

Thanks !

Can you pass the camera to someone else just to make sure we get the picture of what happens next…

But seriously, call a sparkie, diy is not worth the risk.

12v one end, 240v the other

      • Same principle.

      • Circuit breaker. Easy peasy.

Ive been an electrician for 7 years and the fact you're asking this question shows me you don't know what you're doing, and shouldn't be doing it. If I had an inclination you had an idea, I'd point you in the right direction because you're just going to Google it anyway, and I'd prefer you have the correct information.

Any form of LV electrical installation work requires a compliance certificate to be lodged. Because you're changing part of the circuit, you need to ensure the WHOLE circuit is complaint, including protective devices on that circuit, making sure fault loop impedance is still within the limits and earth continuity is good.

You're in over your head and should get a sparky to do this work for you.

    Cheers
