Best TV for Presentation Use?

In the market for a TV to be used in an office meeting room setting. Minimum 55" I reckon. No need for fancy bells and whistles, essentially it would only be used for presentations (rarely even videos).

I'm considering the Kogan 55" 4K LED TV, seems to go for around the $500 mark. Would this be the most bang for my buck?

Thanks for your advice!

I had very nice 1080p projector in our school board room, that's set to 720p, because otherwise the font is too small to be legible. You're very likely better off with the 1080p rather than 4K.

You can play around with scaling in Windows I suppose: and set things to 200%.

That being said, the cheapest 55 incher that kogan sells is a Series 8 KU8000 so I guess there's no cheaper 1080p alternative.

  • The more important part is making sure everyone who uses the room can quickly and easily connect to it. Depending on the laptops you use, HDMI might work, or a wifi solution (Airmedia/Chromecast/AppleTV etc). If you have a range of laptops, have all required connectors on a steel cable so people can swap them around as required, but they don't disappear from the room.

$500 seems like a good deal. Are you buying the Agora version with android? If so it will allow you to cast from your laptop without wires.

I recently just installed a projector at my workplace and it ended up costing over $1200, but this included the motorized screen, projector, intel NUC and parts.

I got a 55" soniq for around that money (possibly a little more) for JB.

Reviews are not that good, but I use it for powerpoint and the odd training video, so it meets my needs.

  • Thanks for your input! Not really considering a projector as the room would be brightly lit and may be out of my budget. The TV would be solely connected to a computer (not even a very good one, doubt it even has HDMI). I could easily buy some connectors off eBay which would suitable.

Love the idea for a wifi solution but to be honest the people using it are not as tech savvy and I'm afraid it might cause more problems.

  • I run a small training business.

For our training room I have moved from projectors to TV.

Projectors are hot and noisy, and with the TV on a good day I can watch Ellen at Lunch :)

Using a wifi connection on the projector means you can only replicate the powerpoint screen - you can't use it in presentation mode.

I carry a wifi projector when I travel, but most of the time I just connect to hdmi to the client's PC.

I have a range of adapters from ebay to convert from VGA to hdmi and hdmi to VGA and they work pretty well.

My best investment was a 6m hdmi cable :)
