try low and slow at the port, that's good - american style bbq

the semaphore palais is good for pub food if you have kids.. playgrounds etc

you're also near hanson road - which is where a lot of great vietnamese food is.. there are so many little great places there..

If you’re not too far, go down to Semaphore road, there’s plenty of options depending on what cuisine you’re looking for (personal favourites for dinner are: Barry’s burgers, Marcelina’s, Soto’s fish and chip shop, breakfast: cafe froot, whipped, and mr pilgrims).

In Port Adelaide they have Carmine and Co, Fasta Pasta, McDonald’s, Subway and Low and Slow. Black Rooster and Ethelton Take Away are also both good fish and chip shops in the ethelton region.

  • Dockside Tavern, 130 Lipson St, Port Adelaide.

Great value for money pub food.

  • Fyi, if you didn't already know, train is free until Jan 28.

Edit: that is the outer harbour, Osborne, Grange trains.

  • The new Greek place just past the Foodland on Semaphore road does nice Yiros and Greek sweets.

Viva Zapata's just beyond that is very generous Mexican.

For Vietnamese, Pho Ba Ria 2 on Hanson Road is great if you've got transport.

Over in Port Adelaide just across the Hart St bridge is Drummer Boy cafe, and Folklore cafe is just beyond that down on the wharf hanging out over the water. I'd recommend both for breakfast/lunch/brunch.
