Flybuys or Woolworths Rewards. What’s Better

I have both a flybuys card and Woolworths rewards card. I would like to start saving my points to put towards a holiday. What card do you think is better ?

    ¿Porque no los dos?

Because you don't need more than one card to buy Tacos.

Shop at aldi, and just put the money saved in the bank till you have enough for the holiday.

Are you asking which rewards program is better or are you specifically looking for who has the better connection to an airline frequent flyer program?

The title infers you're just looking for which program gets you the most "spending money" on either groceries or flying rewards.

Both are the same. I get similar deals from both too. One has Qantas affiliation, the other velocity…

taking away all the bonuses its $10 per $2000 spent so 0.5% (the old ww rewards was better). I like the cashrewards 5% woolworths egiftcard on the mymoney app and every day rewards can be put on apple pay now so makes it easier.

  • you mean which is crappier?

In Tasmania it is easily flybuys. You don't get any bonus/extra point offers with the crappy frequent shopper club

Hey, when did you guys get the internet?

I think it depends how you like to shop - I prefer Woolworths Rewards because their offers generally allow a targeted spend amount to be reached over multiple shops, unlike Flybuys, which will force you to spend it all in one hit.

  • I personally like flybuys, simply as you can scan them at self-checkouts in Coles and they are easy to redeem, 2000 flybuys points = $10.

Woolworths Rewards cards don't get scanned at self-checkouts for some reasons. How to redeem Woolworths Rewards points?

    • I always scan my WWR at self checkouts. Do you mean you can't earn points or redeem them?

      • At the Woolworths I go, I have to manually enter the number as the scanner wouldn't be able to scan the Rewards cards. In manual checkout, they can. Weird.

        • That really is bizarre. Have you tried using an app (either theirs or Stocard) to see if it works at self serve? (Note brightness needs to be all the way up)

Either that or ask the staff at the self serve what the hell. It's a strange issue, I wonder if it's all customers at the store or your card.

  • Personally I have a lot more flybuys points then woolworths rewards. However this is only because Coles is the nearest supermarket. I think technology wise, woolworths is far superior in many ways. For example, fuel vouchers gets stored into your rewards card, whereas you gotta keep the receipts for the Coles ones and hope you won’t lose it. Also with the 5% off e-gift card, there’s an actual app for the woolworths ones and it updates instantly, but the Coles ones are stored in the racq app or email and it takes longer to get the page load, most importantly you have to keep track of the balance yourself.
But if you are just talking about travel benefits, one is for qantas and Virgin for the other, I think the value wise is quite even.
