Ideas for Dish Drying Racks in Share House

I am trying to figure out a better solution for my share house regarding dish drying racks.

Currently, I have something like this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/IKEA-Nickel-plated-FINTORP-DISH-…

However, this rack plus the area beside my sink seem to get filled with just a single person's meal; 2 pots, tops, glasses some cutlery and cutting board.

This is okay for a couple, but there are now 4 of us sharing.

Any great ideas or solutions for this?

(apart from giving up and sharing a dishwasher)

When I use to share house, the general rule was you clean up after yourself, including drying the dishes with a towel after you washed them and put them away.

Buy some tea towels and enforce a rule of drying your dishes after washing. It'll take up less space and you won't have an issue of overcrowding kitchen space with wet dishes.

I also use a mini desktop fan to quickly dry dishes as I put them down that way you can pretty much put the dishes away after giving them a quick wipe.

Dry your dishes and put them away, rather than let them air dry

Buy 4 racks, have one each?

Buy 2 x dishdraws, everyone gets a dishdraw each ;)

  • Play Tetris better, and put the pots and pans back on the stove after washing, on the hot area so it dries quickly.
