Best Online Cake Shop in Sydney?

Hi.. I have heard of a few online cake shops that operate in Sydney.

Can you please recommend the best one/ ones among them? I will prefer one with reasonable shipping price though.

Thanks!

They are 'online only' stores and specialise in delivering the fresh cakes though. At my workplace in the past they always ordered them online, I don't recall the stores' names though.

Depends where you are and your budget. But custom cakes really don’t travel well- in fact if you want a fresh cake most decent bakeries will only deliver in the CBD or immediate surrounds as they don’t like to compromise their product.
I have pre-ordered cakes from Zumbo and Buttercream Bakery before and pick up has been an easy process.
But you could always try checking Facebook for cake decorators that are local to you as that could save you a lot of stress!

    • I just needed a standard cake with no customisation. Which are the popular bakeries in Syd do you recommend in general?

I’ve not had a cake delivered before and we’ve now done a ‘sea change’ so I’m not in Sydney!
But a quick google came up with https://www.loomas.com.au/ which has decent reviews and reasonable delivery costs. Good luck!

Not a great fan of mudcake though it's a good value for the price. ~$4.5 for the whole big cake.. phew!

lol it was a joke. maybe go to Costco though or make your own cake.

Likewise.. mine was a joke in reply. On a serious note, Costco bakery does a fine job at making cakes. I have tried once.

    www.cakes2u.com.au

Some of their cakes are better than others
Avoid their strawberry watermelon cake, not even close the Blackstar's version

    Got the cheesecake from https://www.loomas.com.au/

not a cake guy b ut that was amazing. really balanced.

  • Finally went with Black Star bakery.. ordered the Strawberry Watermelon Cake.. has anyone tried it?

    • Delicious, nice and fresh and summery. Very popular with hipsters and instagrammers. Won't last long in heat.

      • So true.. though I would personally prefer some other stuff in it in place of slice of watermelon which I can have at home anytime. Sure, it does give very good looks to the cake but taste? Probably not.

  • Lorraine's Patisserie next to the Ivy down the alleyway is one of Sydney's finest. First class.

  • Probably a bit late but you can buy Sara Lee slab cakes from Padstow food service in Sydney and they will deliver. I'm a sara lee tragic!! https://padstowfoodservice.com.au/cakes-desserts/slab-tray-c…
