Xiaomi 70 Minutes Car Dashcam Auto Start with Power On

Guys,

I'm planning to purchase a Xiaomi 70 Minutes DashCam during the next promo from LITB, GB, et al. and I've done a fair bit of research and reading but so far I haven't been able to find an answer for this question. Therefore I'm hoping one of the current owners could shed some light before I pull the trigger and purchase two of these.

Provided you have connected the 12v power adapter to an outlet that switches on and off with the ignition, would the camera turn on automatically and start recording when you start the car or do you have to press the power button every time before you start driving? If it is the latter I would find this quite annoying and I would most likely forget/ignore turning it on half the time, defeating the purpose of having one.

Starts recording when you start the car, turns off a few seconds after you turn the car off. Automatically turns on and off, you can set and forget.

What if you have a crash and ignition shuts off? Does camera turn off or is there a g sensor to keep shooting for a bit?

I will crash my car to find out.

      No power, no worky

    • the idea of the whole thing is to record leading up to a crash, what happens after could be pretty brutal and moot.

  • Thanks guys, much appreciated. Thought this would be the case but wanted to make sure before buying.

  • It turns on as soon as it detects movement, (for me, opening any door or the boot) and continues recording for 10 minutes after parking
