Hi All. I've never flown with any airlines from China before.
I'm looking to book a trip to Guangzhou.
The flight is likely a combined ticket between these airlines.
Sichuan Airlines / China Eastern / Shanghai Airlines
I hope someone with experience can share their ranking.
From reading ozbargain, it looks like China Southern Airlines is the best, Hainan is also ok (reading from the latest Haikou special).
I was hoping to fly with Hainan airlines to Guangzhou via Haikou to take advantage of VOA but their flight to Guangzhou is Not via Haikou.
On domestic leg I can choose either China Eastern or Shanghai Airlines. Which one would you choose?
My combined ticket is cheaper than direct Guangzhou flight with China Southern so I'm inclined to taking the opportunity to visit more places.

Shanghai Airlines/China Eastern are essentially the same, it will probably be a codeshare. If actual separate flights probably China Eastern
You can try looking for another destination via CAN on China Southern and use that as a stopover
