Low Cost Sim Plan (for a NFP)

Hi Professionals,

I am a volunteer at a NFP in Brisbane and am looking for a cheap but somewhat reasonable sim only (PAYG or month) plan. This is a sim for our president and will be handed over with role change over. To date everyone has been using personal numbers.

Ideally 1GB data and $500 credit for calls. I was exploring Aldi/Kogan but both state Personal Use only. TPG/Kogan are Vodafone which isnt a huge issue.

I am aware of other treads with a similar question but they are personal use. Anyone have any other options?

Budget is $10/month.

It is odd that Kogan states this yet it only adopts the Vodafone standard form of agreement without incorporating any terms about what “personal use only” actually means, or what happens in the event of a breach.

All Kogan states in its terms of the plan is:

“The Products are for personal use only, and are not available to medium to large business/corporate and commercial customers.”

This is, to my mind, partially inconsistent, at least insofar as small business is concerned.

At least Aldi Mobile’s terms seem to be consistent.

Personally I would ignore it & just see how it goes.

    • agree. just ignore it as you are NFP or corporate that have 100+ staff which has coorporate plan.
only reason I can think of that it marks for private use only is that they don’t want to lose the corporate clients who normally are looked after by corporate team selling expensive plans and $hit old phones at inflated price. They don’t want to lose the high profit margin corporate business.

    • thanks for looking further into this for me.

Amaysim $10 a month meets all spec

    • just join Amaysim. very happy for kid use. unlimited calls, 1G data,

      • They also have a personal use statement. Although based on the above seems that our small group shouldnt be an issue.

I dont understand 28day plans (over a month) but at least they renew automatically.

        • 28 day plans just exist to make sure you pay 13 cycles and not 12. Just another way of making a buck.

What I don't get is 35 day plans, it's like 10.4 cycles per year.

      Not For Profit.

  • https://southernphone.com.au/personal/mobile/sim-only-plans If you can commit to a full year this Green 10 plan looks o.k. No personal experience with the company though and haven't looked closely at T & C to see whether this would suit you.

    • Thanks. I havent seen them before. Looks interesting.

  • OVO $9.95 per month (Amaysim are only 28 days, so 13 cycles per year not 12) gets you 1GB of data + unlimited text + $300 (?) of calls. OVOPlay seems like a gimmick, but it's included entertainment that is data free also.

Pick a sim up at 7-11 or the Post Office rather than ordering online :)

    • Thanks. I will take a look at them too
