Make "Popular" page exclude expired deals?

Hi All,

How would people feel about tweaking the Popular page ( http://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/popular ) to exclude expired deals?

My reasoning is that there's really not much point for the viewer in seeing something that has expired.

However, if we wanted to include expired deals to tell people what they are missing out on, then maybe the page could be broken into two bits, with the current deals at the top, and expired ones at the bottom?

What are people's thoughts on this?

— All the best,
Nick.

  • Yes - that is a good idea to exclude expired deals.

  • I agree the popular page is pretty much useless to me as it is whilst it includes the expired results.

  • Well, from someone who is using those pages to analyse the "pattern of bargains" showing expired deals is actually very useful. I can look at a page of deals sorted by their popularity, and figure out why some deals are popular and some are not…

Well I guess it is not that useful for someone just coming here to see what is popular this week. Maybe I'll hide the expired deals by default, but having an option to turn it back on in user preferences.

  • good idea scotty ;)
