Automatically Register Cards for AmEx Offers

So I'm currently on uni break and have been quite bored so thought I would try to help out some OzBargainers. I know a lot of you have multiple AmEx cards and it can be a chore to register them all for offers. I decided I would create a small Python based program that does this automatically with minimal effort on your behalf. So far I have it working with my cards. The only issue is it requires a few 3rd party libraries. I'm making this post to see if there is enough interest so that I can further extend it to OzBargain rather than just personal use.

      I'll share it once it's further developed. Will be adding Excel compatibility to fetch details for each card soon.

    I guess this will only work with non-targeted offers, you will probably find that registering for offers and not using them will result in less targeted offers coming your way.

    Also, I don't like the idea of blanket subscribing of offers which you won't necessarily use and will result in another customer who would genuinely use the offer missing out.

      You'll be glad to know that this program won't be blanket subscribing to offers. The early releases will require you to enter the offer code from the URL of the offer(s) you want to subscribe to. Depending on demand, future releases will automatically search for offers and ask you which ones you want to subscribe to.

    nurries - good on you for helping and sharing, but honestly, there are people out there with 5, 10, or 20 AMEX cards hoarding all the offers they could get their hands on, do you really want to make life easy for them?

      Whether I make it easier or not, they're going to register for the offers anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if some already have small scripts setup.

      It's just as secure as you registering manually. I won't be handling any of your data, it will be 100% local to your PC.

      Not sure how this contributes to the discussion but sure, as long as you're happy with multiple bouncy castle purchases on your card.
