Looks like some breach or system problem at Hungry Jacks

And where did you get this information from?
    Has it happened to you?
Is it limited to a particular store?
What's the description of those "unauthorised transactions"?
How do you know the transactions were from hungry jacks?

Would be nice to have more information. Sometimes people blame unauthorised transactions on the last store they used their card, but in a lot of cases, it's actually a store they went to a while back. The stolen card information isn't always immediately used. It could be weeks or months after they've got the information.

      Agreed.

More than willing to heed a warning, but OP post is really lacking some vital information, I.E; was it them, a friend, a colleague, a news article? Where's the source? Are they certain it was HJ's?

Edit; sorry I realise I'm not actually adding anything useful here.

      OP we need more info.

    • I have also had odd transactions at fast food outlets after using my Amex which dissapear within a week or so.

    sleep eating will do this

  • I thought I was the only one! This isn't the first time it has happened. I got a random HJ's transaction pop up in WA while I was in Victoria. Called AmEx and they immediately sent me a new card and credited the value to my account.

    • This is different? OP is saying HJ was breached, so if you used your card there recently, you might have unauthorised transactions from random places on your card.

      • OP clearly stated "Lot of unauthorised transactions in cards used there in last 1 week"

What I assumed OP was saying is that they used their card there and now are getting unauthorised transactions from there.

        • I guess you can read it that way. It's not clear I suppose. I just know from experience that the the fraud spend is rarely done where the data was compromised from…but you never know these days.

        • I wonder if you could just order the same thing 3 times in a row so they all read the same then wait a month and dispute it to get 2 back lol…

        • @Slippery Fish:

You could but my morals are a bit higher than scamming a business for $20 worth of food haha

@nurries: morals are an illusion, all that matters is what a man can and can't do.

Atleast it's not ripping the Aldi bag lol

  • yeah I had this, bank said its taking a while for HJ transactions to come through, I thought a month was excessive, but apparently not

I got a letter from the other day and the transaction date was a month off when it showed in account.

at the moment it has been credited back

This happened to my Amex as well. I hadn’t been to Hungry Jacks in a month and was charged for a larger amount than usual (coupons, always) by the same store, but the charge disappeared the next day.
