When Is The Best Time to Go to Singapore. IE Fair Prices, Hotels etc. as in Cheap

Family want to go on a vacation next year. Singapore is the first destination. Other cities might be a good look at if it’s cheaper. I’m looking to start saving for it now. Budget needs to be affordable. Also orangutans are a must see for these lot.

Do you a search on Singapore here on ozb, and you will discover, eg https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/358580 (thats looks cheaper since 90+ votes)
Having said that, you can fly to another asian country via SG stop over for bit more.
SG hotels are usually not cheap, if you looking for family holiday, SG is not cheap.

Accommodation is never going to be overly cheap, but definitely avoid it during the F1 in September as prices get very expensive then. I'd also avoid going during Asian school holidays, mostly because the attractions get so busy (i.e. if you plan to visit Universal Studios, going off-peak means less queues and more enjoyment).

Also be aware that Airbnb is a major grey area in Singapore, so even though there are places listed, you are taking a risk as property owners aren't supposed to lease a property for any less than 3 months at a time. So to be safe you probably want to look at corporately owned serviced apartments instead.

  • Take climate into consideration too, though the better weather times might be pricier in terms of accomodation. https://www.makemytrip.com/travel-guide/singapore/best-time-…

Food is always cheap. Just live off hawker markets. You'll get full dishes for $3-5. (Though at this price many eat two because they're so delicious!)

  • Took the family last August, it’s a very expensive city. If you’re after a budget holiday it’s definitely not the place. Only thing that I found cheap was hawker centre food.
