Hey fellow bargainers,

Please suggest some decent television for me to buy. I usually watch Netflix and play XBOX, so less input lag is what m looking for.

Thanks.

@altomic: wait a minute, that was a question. I posted it. I'm doing it!! I'm researching!!!!!

  • Is the TV going to be used for gaming for very long periods of time, EG; displaying the same HUD consistently for very long periods of time (weeks) without interval?

  • PC & 120hz Monitor

  • Want the best TV for gaming?

    LG OLED B7T

    Done!

Now wait until March/April when the B8T is released and get the B7T for a bargain clearance!

    Cheers

    • As long as the panel isn’t supplied the same image (such as a HUD) for extended periods, by that I mean if you play the same title (with the same HUD) on the same TV without any other material for weeks and weeks without any interval, there’s a very good chance you’ll get permanent IR. Turning the unit on and off doesn’t alleviate the issue, nor does running anti-IR programs after the fact or during. Rtings is doing a long-term study, but so far their tests indicate that OLED needs mixed media to operate without risk of permanent IR.

I would have loved an OLED but there was a point where’d I played F4 exclusively for a a very long period of time. It wasn’t all at once, but the TV wasn’t used for other material in between. I’m confident that if I’d had an OLED panel I’d have some degree of permanent IR.

Short term with mixed usage it’s not a problem.

For most people it’ll never be an issue, but for for nerds such as myself who always play the same damn game it’s not ideal IMO.

      • There is too much fluff and negativity about this.

Ask any LG OLED owners and they would state that they have no issues with Image Retention/Burn in.

I have had my LG OLED B7T from boxing day, gaming continuously in 4K and have no issues.

Not that I have used this feature, there is a Pixel Refresher setting that you can use if you are worried about this.
The newer TV's have factored the past inherent issues and now work in a way that you don't notice these issues.

Once you go OLED, you forget about all the other TV's you have had and won't look back.

        Cheers

Here you go champ, that's a real bargain there…

    • flash back to the days when the tv burnt so had huge black bars on each side, resulting in only seeing less than half the image.
