Pro Git (Second Edition) is your fully-updated guide to Git and its usage in the modern world. Git has come a long way since it was first developed by Linus Torvalds for Linux kernel development. It has taken the open source world by storm since its inception in 2005, and this book teaches you how to use it like a pro.

My new years resolution was to branch out and learn new things. I really pushed myself to learn git but I just couldn't commit. Now I'm at a fork in the road and don't know whether I should continue or quit.

Stash your new years resolution. Pop it out again once you feel you are ready to commit and push towards it.

It's hard but sometimes you need to rebase yourself to be able to succeed new things. To master something, you need to merge all the different sources of info available to you.
