Best Phone Plan if I Want Calls/Texts but Don't Need Data?

I use a Chinese phone with dual sim, and one of the SIM cards provides all the data I need on the Telstra network.

I need to pair this with a SIM that'll give me calls and texts (I don't do a huge amount of either, but prefer unlimited deals). Currently I use an Amaysim (Optus network) deal that was ~$6 month, but that has recently expired and is costing me an unacceptable $25.

What plan or deal would y'all recommend that is the best value for money? I need cheaps calls/texts (but no data) on a decent network, for the best price.

Why are you paying $25/month? Amaysim is $10/month for unlimited calls/text and 1GB of data. No need to port.

    • MY cheap groupon deal defaulted to $25/month for 1.5GB data and unlimited calls/text.

I'll have to see if I can roll that back to the $10/month plan, much better, thanks.

Just to be precise, Amaysim's $10 plan is per 28 days, rather than a month.

Just go into plan settings and switch.

Thanks. Wasted about $80 not logging in to my Amaysim account sooner. Guess I better turn in my OzBargain licence

        • oh no sweetie, no need to turn in the licence.. just drop the dacks and a quick helicopter will suffice

  • Kogan Small 365 Plan bought with $50 off $120 vouchers from eBay would be under $10/mth.

  • Wait for a Groupon/Scoopon etc deal and get 3 or 6 months for a few bucks a month or try this plan for $9.90 per month: https://www.jeenee.org.au/products/sim-packs/#plan-990-12

  • Aldi pay as you go:
Calls 12c per min, SMS 12c each, International calls from 10c per min
