Still can't believe that I bought tickets from this 'special' - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/350367

And it's still more expensive =/ I haven't even used them yet as it's been Cheaper to do the $10 Telstra Tix rather than use promo with the silly booking fee =/

    • The booking fee is what kills me… my local cinema has $10 tickets all day every day and when there is 10% off event cinema gift cards, I grab them and that covers the booking fee ;)

    • How do you get $10 Telstra tix without paying a booking fee?

    • Why is black panther excluded?

      • +1

Maybe they expect it to me popular 😅

      • +2

I have excluded it from this list because the tickets cannot be used tor Black panther for the first 11 days of its release, by which time, most people will have likely seen it.

I assume Black Panther is excluded until the 26th Feb because the cinemas generally get a smaller percentage share of the box office in the first 2 weeks of release, and then get a greater share in subsequent weeks. Event won't want to lose out on any of their thin margin on a large blockbuster like Black Panther.

        Racism.

Indeed. No one ever talks about Pink Panther no more.

  • How is gold class different to Hoyts cinemas with their new reclining seats?

Hoyts are $19 a ticket and Event being $25 for Gold Class?

    • $19?
Depending on the ticket restrictions I can get Hoyts tickets for $13 + recliner fee…

    • +1

The event gold class is slightly different. At my local anyways, the seats are much bigger, you get a little table and the cinema consists of about 25-30 people.

    • +1

They just priced matched, $8.50 a ticket + $1.50 booking fee per ticket, or $25 + $3 booking fee for Lux.

  • Surcharges apply Friday and Saturday after 5PM.
    how much maybe?

Popcorn is 95c at Aldi, use the microwave in the parent/child room of any shopping centre and save yourself $4.05.

    • +5

      Parent rooms have microwaves?

      • +9

Yeah it’s to heat up the baby milk

Post of the year right here.

    • You're not meant to leak these secrets out! Those are exclusive parental facilities!

      • Oh no, now the police are going to arrest me for using parent facilities.

        • Next you're gonna say you park in Parents with Pram designated spots!

        • @Munki: that's just morally wrong and for actual parents. The parent room is not affecting anyone except they give you bad looks

Still rip off Sydney city new cinema has tickets for $5 this week.

  • Can't even use these Gold Class tickets on a Thursday when a movie opens. Only valid for sessions Monday-Wednesday.

    • The Gold Class would only be useful on Wednesdays anyway - you can already get $25 with Cinebuzz Mon and Tue then 10% off with Events gift cards at Coles.

      • I usually go on a Thursday when new releases start.

  • Booking fees kill the vouchers.

    • just print and use them at the cinemas…. no booking fee that way.

      but

BUGGER - still have 8 tickets from the $10 deal a month or so ago….

LOL at them thinking I’d wanna see Black Panther. Hopefully it gets the Ghostbusters reboot treatment.

  • Wonder if Molly's game will still be showing by the time these can be used

    • Molly's game was awesome. It should still be playing next week anyway. I'm sure the Oscar nom films will be around at least until the ceremony in March.

Please no one buy the popcorn I'm going to go postal if I hear incessant munching

  • Can we buy using Event Cinema Gift Cards? (Got few $ worth of Gift Cards We bought during Xmas AMEX promotion.)

Edit: Seems only PayPal & CC

    • +1

yeah I find this super annoying, I sent them an email. What is the point of having a gift card if you can't use it for their products.

      • Thanks, keep us updated if they get back to you

  • Anyone know if it's cheaper to buy 2 x $5 popcorn with the deal vs just buying a large popcorn at the Candy Bar?

  • The $5 MasterCard deal for small popcorn and drink is still available in their gift shop too.

    https://giftshop.eventcinemas.com.au/products/MastercardDebi…

  • (excl Black Panther)

What is the exchange rate of the Wakandan Dollar to the Zamundan Pound?

  • Expired already

  • Gold vouchers are only good for Monday - Wednesday use….. which is crap..
