    Why is this a bargain?

It doesn't appear to be discounted.

Why haven't you negged my post yet?

And a Very ordinary BBQ at that.

I know the word bargain is in the site's name and all, but does literally every deal posted here have to be a bargain?

Aldi sell some cool stuff so I believe it's totally fine to make others aware of that.

      • but does literally every deal posted here have to be a bargain?

Yes, it's in the deal posting rules.

        Before posting a bargain
        * Is this really the best price on the web?

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guidelin…

        • Can you find a better price on this item on the web?

        • -2

          @Lorindor:

The posting rules are for the person posting the deal…
They need to check and then describe why this is a bargain.

        • @jv:

The posting rules are for the person posting the deal…

The answer is no, you can't, because it's a new item which hasn't existed until now.

They need to check and then describe why this is a bargain.

Says who? No where in the rules does it state that each deal posted requires that.

        • @Lorindor:

it's a new item which hasn't existed until now.

          I doubt that very much.

        • @jv:

          I doubt that very much.

I could not care less what you doubt, back up your request or don't post it in the first place.

        Aldi sell some cool stuff

You should post it on 'OzCoolStuff' then…

        • +1

Right, so just because something doesn't match your perfect description of a bargain, it's not allowed to be shared on this site.

You must be fun at parties…

No, the chips go over HERE, on the snacks table, have you not read the party rules before entering?

        • @Lorindor:

it's not allowed to be shared on this site.

          The rules are clear…

If it's not the cheapest, then it shouldn't be posted… You must be new here.

        • @Lorindor:

You must be fun at parties…

No need for personal attacks on other members.

Please stick to discussing the supposed 'deal'…

If it's not the cheapest, then it shouldn't be posted…

Uhh I believe it is the cheapest, but I challenge you to provide proof showing that it is not.

          You must be new here.

Certainly not new here mate, just sick of reading your dribble when you contribute sweet FA to the site.

        • @Lorindor:

          personal attacks are not necessary…

if you don't like my comments, don't read them.

if you don't like my comments, don't read them.

How about you begin posting useful content instead of trashing deals that other member's post for your own self-satisfaction?

        • @Lorindor:

That'll do thanks, let's end the 'discussion' there.

    • Aldi do their "specials" items a couple of times a year e.g power tools, outdoor, etc.
So its not an "available everyday" deal and I guess that makes it a bargain if you can get one due to limited stock and you won't get one for that price in March as deal finished.

compared to weber Q …. weber Q is nicer, and has better warranty but reality is by the time you wear one of these bbq's a newer model is already on the market,

Replacements parts are a tricky thing with some companies once out of warranty incase people try to fit parts and get it wrong e.g use pliers instead instead of spanner to fit things and strip threads, etc, so they handle warranty for non-user serviceable parts via service centres or return to dealer for new or refund.

Breville don't even sell toaster elements for their $170 toaster (throw $170 toaster in bin outside of 2 year warranty period) …. probably incase people get electric shocks from incorrect fitting.

      • Aldi do their "specials" items a couple of times a year

Yes, but the product isn't only manufactured and sold a couple of times per year. That would not make economic sense for the manufacturer.

        • Aldi don't make a lot of the products ….. a supplier brands it for them drops a shipment it's sold and aldis space is free again, and this way Also don't hold stock and waste warehouse space for a year.

The manufacturers then do a batch run with other branding for a company…. so manufacturer is always making and selling outside of Aldo brand run.

The aldi drills are einhell who also sell under their own brand, the Aldi smoker was a Hark so came off same line in china different name.

Aldi aren't a design house like Apple that designs and gets stuff made or own factories. They just resell with own brand.

        • @garage sale:

a supplier brands it for them drops a shipment it's sold and aldis space is free again

So how do you know it's a bargain?

The same product might be cheaper elsewhere.

  • It's portable. You can port it.

  • It looks more portable than the Webber Q.. but not sure about the same quality though especially at 1/3 the price.
    hmm..

Here for expert comments. Quite keen on this.

      My fav review

First time cooking sausages over the grill, the gas flame exploded with 50cm high flames. Even turning of the gas off at the bottle, the flames still kept leaping up for 30 seconds. Very dangerous, totally blackened the food

I wouldn't trust this reviewer with my fisher price stove.

      • sounds like they ignited a pool of oil or fat.

  • Looks like a reasonably priced Weber Q alternative?

    • But it's not a bargain therefore NO DEAL EDDY! /s

    • Baby Q alternative I'd say.

Weber advantages is their warranty. I've seen people send weber photos of rusty grills and weber replaces the whole thing for free!

    • yep, the Q series has been replicated by many other makers now, e.g bbq galore , beefeater, etc.

the design difference was the grate sites directly over the burner and has metal in the grate above the burner foot print over the burners to stop flare-ups hence no deflectors, etc like on trolley bbqs so you get good heat from a small bbq.

Also the lid allows you trap heat when grilling so saves on fuel and is quicker.

Also they are all just aluminium clam shells with a burner and grate.

though this one doesn't look like a good copy looking at the grate …. seems to have deflector over burner ….. would need to see one in the flesh.
