AmEx Points for Upgrade on Flights with an Infant

Hello Everyone.

Im a bit new to all of this points business, so please bare with me.

I want to go back to the UK (Manchester) from Perth Christmas time next year. I got an American Express Explorer card and have busily been spending and accumulated quite a few points (in addition to the 100,000) i got when signing up.

The curveball to the task is I have a 4 month old baby, who will be just over 1 year old by the time we go.

Every time I have been back to the UK previously I have flown Qatar as they seem to be one of the cheapest as airlines go and i quite like them. I would like to upgrade using the points ive accumulated but I believe that upgrades with infants is not possible with Qatar.

Im hoping someone could advise me if it is indeed possible to upgrade to either premium or business with an infant. I will happily fly with any airline if possible.

Amex explorer doesn't transfer to qatar for info

    Where are you getting this information from? Membership Rewards Gateway is a 4:3 transfer program and not 3:2 as far as I know, and paragraph 13.4 here does not list QR as a transfer partner

      @jackwoz: This is an international site and won't be applicable for the Australian Explorer card, if that's the one you have. You can log into MR, navigate to the points transfer section and it will show you all of the partners
