Need Recommendation for Good Back & Shoulder Massager

Hi Everyone,

I've been having a bad aching back and shoulder on and off and has been pretty bad lately.

I tried massaging it and it helps to relieve the ache. So I'm looking for a good back and shoulder massager that I can place on the backrest of my chair and power it on so it can massage my back and shoulders while I'm sitting at my chair ?

Obviously being a fellow OzBargainer, good deals are definitely welcomed !

hate to say it, but OSIM ones are very good… expensive, but very good

    • I've tried the OSIM massage chairs, but they are too big for my workdesk. Plus not really a good deal for like a few thousand dollars.

      • i have the ucozy
try that as its not that big, and you can strap it to a given height etc
        it's not a whole chair

i do wish it didn't have the cable but i guess power needs to come from somewhere

        • Thanks, I have something like the ucozy. But it's too small, only covers a very small area of the back. I was hoping for something that covers the whole back area.

A wife? But probably not a bargain.

Can I turn the "wife" off when the massage is over ? :p

My wife gets turned off automatically every time I ask her for a massage, it could just be the model I have, I'd suggest an upgrade.

sock and a tennis ball/golf ball. Put the ball in the sock and use it to hold position on your back and lie on it. youre not going to get pain relief from sitting in a chair and flicking a switch. look up some back stretches or floor stretching on youtube and spend 30 minutes a day stretching it out.

Thanks, I actually have a foam roller that I use in the evenings when I have the time to do proper stretches and exercise. This massager is just for the time I have to sit in my workdesk.

      • and how is your posture at your work desk? Is your monitor high enough? Are you getting that typical pain from using the mouse too much?

        • Posture is pretty normal. Monitors at face level so not looking up or down. No pain from using the mouse either. Don't think it's a posture issue. I'm getting old, so looking for a back massager to massage my old aching back muscles.

  • Do you normally get much exercise? Try a pushbike to get the blood flowing or alternatively a anti inflammatory pill.

Badminton 2 to 3 times a week. But getting old and muscles are not what they used to be.

      • I'm in the same boat :-( I find a good bike ride helps.. must be from getting the blood circulating.
In times of desperation the anti inflamation pill never fails.
Tried some different home massage machines with little success. A trigger point therapist is good but expensive.
Old age mate.. every day a new ache or pain LOL.

Buy a new Mercedes with the massaging seats package.

    • Isn't that only for the top of the line Mayback and Lexus models.

Thought I'm sure the police won't be too happy for me to be using the computer while driving and getting a back massage :p

  • I bought this for $69 https://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/shiatsu-select-massage-…

Use discount code on front page to get it for roughly the same price.

My family members always try to steal it.

  • Hi Tanfree.
    First post for me.
I have three back massagers. One is a very expensive shiatsu massager and two others are both from KOGAN and both excellent. One is a percussion massager that thumps the bejesus out of muscles and the other heat & massage. Love them both and very cost effective too.

    • Would you happen to have the Internet links to the massagers so I can have a look see ?

  • hey just hang from a door every so often or lay flat down back up on the floor and get your wife/GF to run their crossed hands up and down your spine and if they feel a slight lump, get them to push harder with their palms at that point a few times. I do it quite often, BUT others will cringe at the method.I also get my wife to do a few hard palm pushes on my lower back when I lay flat on the center floor cupboard/table.

  • I use a Wahl massager from the USA. Needs a 110-240V transformer
