Can anyone recommend me a cheap Android phone I can buy in-store just as a back up phone. I only want to spend around $50. I remember you could get fairly good Huaweis for this price at Coles years ago but is there anything like that selling now?

No. Just broke my phone the other day and ordered what i wanted but I have to wait for it. The first company messed me around after a week saying no stock(a bit late to tell me).
Just starting to miss sms and messages from family and stuff so I thought I should get something really cheap but capable of basic things like Android apps while I wait an incase I need it again for what ever reason. I also need people to call and message me while I am out and about.
then anything really from the 'prepaid' section for your telco will get you over the line till it arrives. In the sub $50 range, they'll crap TBH.
I know they will be crap but a good phone will replace it and it is good to have a spare incase.
What stores should I go to for the 'deals' on these $50 prepaid phones.

There were multiple smartphones selling for AUD 29 and even AUD 9 in coles/woolworth. Check the forum.
Yeah those would be fine as long as they are unlocked or unlockable for a small fee. Do you have any links to any? I went 3 pages back in the deals for mobile part of the website and only found one that was marked expired.
