amaysim Energy - No Pay on Time Discount (POTD) if Account Is in Credit?

Hi all,

I have recently signed up for amaysim energy after receiving an email saying I would receive 250$ credit ($125 on the first bill and $125 12 months later). I also like their prices which included a 31% pay on time discount.

I have received the first bill (~$64) and my account shows ~$61 in credit. However, the 31% pay on time discount has not been added to the bill. Ideally, the bill should be only 69% of $64.

I raised this question with the chat consultant. Our conversation went like this:

Me: Whenever I have an extra credit in my account I would not be entitled to get the pay on time discount on that amount?
Chat consultant: If the credit is higher than the total amount of the bill you will not able to get the Pay on Time discount.

Is it true or am I being misinformed? Has anyone come across such situation?

Any help/information will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Edit: I think the consultant is not aware that As long as your current bill is paid on time, this discounted amount will be carried across to your next bill. As given here. Hope I get it back the next bill.

Same situation. No POTD applied on my bill either.

  • Pretty misleading of them.

  • Amaysim have been hammering me to take up this offer. It always looked a bit too tricky to me. The discount may be substantial but IIRC the original price is higher also. One plus, I think the POTD is on the whole bill but don't quote me. In the end, I can recall it was just too difficult to compare with other suppliers.

  • Today I received call from Amaysim and explained their way of billing. You will receive the 31% of current bill as credit for next month. In simple words, let's say your 1st month bill is $100. If you pay $100 on time, then you will get a credit of $31 for next month. So, if your actual bill for 2nd month is $100 then you have to pay only $69 this time. Again if you pay this $69 on time, you will get 31% of $69 (~$21.4) as next month credit. I didn't like this as we pay more compare to other retailers.

I was in lumo, who was giving 33% Discount on same month bill. Let's say he is giving 31% (like Amaysim). Then, first month I have to pay $69 and second month $69, in total $138. But as per Amaysim plan, I హవే have to pay $100+$69-$21.4(3rd month credit) ,in total $147.6. It's like almost $10 extra (charges are almost same in both).

So after using bonus $125, just think about continuing or not.

  • so When we port out, the last bill from Amaysim will not have any discount as there will not be any Next bill.

Also, will my credit rating be affected if I keep porting out and into utility suppliers
