Macbook Pro or Air for Mobile/ Javascript Developers

Hi Guys,
I am sure there are many geeks out here.

Can you share your experience with whether Macbook Air , 8GB, 256 SSD model would do the job with mobile and javascript development?

Have you used with Virtual machine, windows, as well?

Cheers
Amit

Any computer will do okay. Jesus.

    It's just javascript

    • Hey Bhagwan! It is not just Javascript, it is Java, Android Studio, xCode.

  • For front-end developers, I think even MacBook Air with 8GB RAM would be sufficient. However if it's covering browsers you also need to be able to support/test IE11 & Edge, which means running a Windows VM that would use up ~2GB of memory.

If your Javascript means Node.js or any backend development, then get as much RAM as you can.

    • Thanks mate. I am keen of getting Air due to the size and weight. However, I do know that it may cause many troubles with Virtual machines. That is why I asked this question here if some geniuses are already using VM on air and get some feedback directly.

MAC is only a must tool for when you are developing for MacOS or iOS.

    • Indeed!
