Power Bank for Tablet and Mobiles?

I am heading on road trip for six months and want to do as much free camping as possible. I have two mobiles (Apple 6) and a tablet (iPad) to charge over approx week of no mains power. I looked at comments about portable solar charger but think they are just an extra thing to carry (0.5kg!!) A lot of people suggested to have solar charger connected to power bank during the day, which seemed smart if having it out in open all day was secure.
But I think I will get a power bank (not sure how ‘strong’ but enough to power three devices three times in the week??) I was planning on having power bank fully charged before arrival….. then recharge from car when moving to next location.
Recommendation?

You do know that buy asking on Ozbargain you'll most likely be told to get a Xiaomi Mi Power Bank. I'm loving mine that I got and so I am now on the Xiaomi Mi list :)

But yes, solar power bank is the only way you can really go unless you can make do with a 20,000 mAh power bank and recharge it before you leave.

    • Seems to be the way to go …Xiaomi taking over the world one device at a time. A few years ago I had never heard of them…. it was all Officeworks specials price matching Dick Smiths…. the good old days🤔

Is it a case of you only having access to a powerpoint once each week?

enough to power three devices three times in the week??

Because you're going away for 6 months (assuming weight isn't a problem because it's a "roadtrip" and you'll have your car nearby") you could get two or three of the Xiaomi 20,000mah powerbanks. Each of those 20k powerbanks can give all three devices just over a single full charge each.

    • Yep it’s a road trip so will have access to car all the time. Gee three power banks…. might buy a deck of cards instead of looking at internet in evening!
      Cheers

        Gee three power banks

It's because the ipad battery is huge and if you want to charge that and two iphones each three times, then you're going to need something huge.

        For a full charge from 0-100%, it's:
        iPad battery capacity: 12,000mah
        iphone 6 battery capacity: 1800mah + 1800mah (two phones)

That 20,000 powerbank will only provide about one full charge for all three devices. (Remember that the real capacity of a powerbank is only about 2/3 of what it's advertised at).

If you only have access to mains power for limited times, then it's better to get two separate powerbanks than one. You can fully charge two on separate powerpoints faster than a single powerbank that's the equivalent total capacity on one powerpoint. Also, use QC adaptors if you can with the Xiaomi powerbanks

      • Will you even have mobile reception where you are going?

        • Debatable ….. and I swore I would never get Telstra again, but I am going to have to eat my words….😖

    I use this one camping

I like that it has quick charge.

The built in flashlight is pretty weak but a nice backup.

    It is pretty heavy though.

  • If I got two of these??
