Need Cheap iPad Pro 64g 10.5in in Space Grey Urgently

Hi Guys,

Been trapped into having to buy a new Ipad for Son as needs it for School. Oh the pressure for us parents. Old Ipad wouldnt load some of the required apps, so now looking to buy a new one. Every kid in class has the Pro. So looking at a new space grey 64G 10.5.

Any one else have some other supplier. Ebay have some local sellers. Cheapest seller eclips_estore_au $786 delivered when you use the Pronto code. As Sunday cant get response as to whether I can get it in space grey and in stock. Should probably just buy it and get it in any colour. Although just dont know if son would appreciate the rose gold. Not that theres anything wrong with that colour. The space grey is good as it as the black front surround rather than white.

JBHI edu have it for $871.10

Kogan/Dick Smith $821.99. imported.

Also DWI Digital have it(gold version) for $796. Anyone used these guys before?

Noticed some models slightly cheaper like the gold. But prefer the space grey ideally as the case we have is black.

Any other ideas or sellers would be great. Apple products are such rip. Loath having to buy them.

Thanking everyone in advance. Need to get it this week ideally while the PRONTO sale on. Prices are all delivered to 3187.

You can also negotiate price in store at apple. If you need it urgently aren't you just concerned with availability rather than price or colour? Surely school would only need the base model rather than the 10.5 pro?

        • Didnt know that you could negotiate. Would assume they wouldnt get close to the $786, but at least I wouldnt have to wait for delivery. Yes colour probably not so important, but just saying preferred in space grey if I can get it.

As for as the model is concerned we could go for the Ipad Air which would open up price, but all the kids have this so just keeping it in line with the Jones. Also expect this model to last longer as only just released as he'll need it for the next 3 years. This model will keep up with IO versions better I assume.

        • @Dedbny:

You can get iPad Pro for $949 through their education store, you will also receive a pair of Beats headphones.

if you can wait a week then this ebay store has one for $723.15 with code PRONTO

or this used one for $704 delivered with code pronto

    • Looked at that Ebay Seller. Very keen price, but says wont be back till 25/2 and then have to probably wait another week or 2 as theyll have back orders from other items they havent shipped while away. Willing to wait the week though for a delivery if local Aus seller.

Cheap and apple, very difficult to achieve

    • Yeah I know Cheap and APPLE dont go. Its a case of what is the best price really. Cheapest is to go down the model range really. Just looking now at that used one on ebay.

    • also throw "urgently" into the mix!

Classic. I want it now. And cheap. And apple.

  • So what do you guys think. USED? $704.00 delivered. MMM. Assume the warranty thing is based on the serial number. Dont know if I can check with apple store. Didnt know these things had 2 year warranties.

Hi, yes brought in Australia. Warranty is attached to the serial number as per screenshot. Has Australian consumer law warranty until November 2019. When I inspected could not see any scratches anywhere so it is almost new condition

Gonna have to pay up if the priority is keeping up with the Joneses.

Before you drop a grand, maybe take a breath and consider if really, everyone else did indeed spend $1000, or whether a 32gb iPad 9.7 for $400 might be adequate and more in line with the kind of message that might be better for your kid long term.

    • Dont have an issue with forking out something for a better model that will last. He will use it at home as well, not just at School. He is willing to put in some extra as he wants the Pro. We will pay it though, but his intentions are good to put in.

You could buy another new base model in 3 years for $250 after you sell the one you get now, and you would have a refreshed device now and then for less total expenditure.

IT stuff isn't something you buy to last, as you are experiencing now because the current iPad apparently won't load some desired app.

Unless he wants to use the $150 pencil, the pro is seriously not worth double the normal iPad. You could use the Apple 14 days return policy to try out the base iPad and if it can’t run apps - almost impossible, return it.

He does want to use the pen in future.

  • Partner has just advised that if the seller for the used ipad doesnt sign out of find my phone and icloud for that app theres potential lock out issues if the battery goes dead and you need to log back in after boot up. Would anyone know if a factory reset would get rid of all those settings. Sounds like Im back on a new model rather than used.

    • from the pic of the ipad in the auction it looks like it is not signed in to an icloud account.

find my phone and icloud will NOT get rid of those settings (hence all the cheap iphones & ipads for "parts" on ebay)

The seller sent a picture of just the sign in where you put apple id and password. Suspect just factory reset wont get rid of the personal setting if still signed in. But it could have those settings locked. Hes only had it for 3 months. Odd that he would be selling it. Is very cheap for a celluar model.

  • I would pay the extra and go for JBedu. You can also get Apple refurb for wifi $829.

    • Thanks all for comments. Will look at negotiating with Apple store and JB. To see what we can get. Used option to risky. Refurbished not really an option for same warranty. If we get new we will at least have 2 years warranty from date of purchase from APPLE. Buying on line would be kogan/dicksmit, but would still need to wait a week for delivery or fork out extra for express postage.

  • Apple and JBHI stores wouldnt budge on price or match internet price. Fair enough. Kogan had it for $799 deliverd as free delivery at moment. So have gone with them. Imported but should be fine as have brought stuff from them before.
