One Wheel Plus - Looking for The Cheapest Way to Buy from The US

Hi there OZ Bargainers,

I've been playing with a One Wheel and want to buy one.

https://onewheel.com/products/onewheel-plus

I know they're expensive and seem like a toy but I reckon I'd get a lot of use on it.

Even though it's from a single supplier, is there any way I can get my hands on one without paying massive duties and handling fees inbound to AU ?

Does anyone know a good forward shipping company ?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Arlo

  • Are these legal in Australia? Top speed 30km/h?

  • Probably not street legal - I live on acreage with nice rolling hills that you could carve on. That's why I want it. Instead of a motor bike etc

  • Is the tyre solid or air filled?

    • Air filled - they're so much fun. You can put off road tyres on them. You can take them off jumps.

      • Don't know about your acreage but mine has occasional bindii. Kills motocross tyres in a flash so I imagine these will be toast pretty quick.

        • Very soft grass - can walk the lot barefoot.

In winter the grass will die down a bit .. make it a bit harder for the wheel to go faster.

        • Nice. Seems like a hoot. Sorry I can't help with your original question.

  • A work colleague has one of these. He had to have it sent by ship due to the battery. It's also broken and the only way to get it fixed is to send it back to the states by, you guessed it, sending it via ship.

  • I purchased an original One Wheel and had heaps of fun with it, although it doesn't get used as much anymore. I would be keen on the new one but the shipping costs plus duties and taxes we get slugged with are enough to put me off.

I've used mine on footpaths and roads, while not exactly legal its a lot of fun when you get a flat surface.

I'm no expert in shipping but even if you used a forward shipping company wouldn't you still have to pay duties because of the value of the One Wheel?
