Carnival Cruise for under 2 Yo

I am thinking about doing a carnival cruise with my 1yo and 4 yo in June to South Pacific, and I have a few questions regarding the 1yo:

  1. do you pay full price for 1yo or you get a discount?
  2. can you put the 1 yo to the kids club or they have to be fully toilet trained?
  3. Can you hire a private babysitter (or it doesn't exist?)

Thanks in advance guys.

Best you ask the cruise line directly for specifics but:
    1) You pay a discounted rate for kids, but its not by much, in some cases could be more if there is a sale on that only applies to the first 2 adults. Often you save on tax and fee's not the actual fares themselves.
    2) Most cruise ships will have extremely strict rules that they must be over 2 yo, some 3yo. I went with my son who turned 2 during the cruise and they still wouldn't allow him even after he turned 2, its the age they are when the board the ship. Best you can do is you can go in and stay there whilst they play.
    3) Most ships provide baby sitters for a fee per child, but there is specific windows and its by availability.

Also note that most cruises have a set limit on the number of sub 2 year olds they allow per ship, its to keep the crying factor to a limit. Most passengers dont want 100's of 1 year olds screaming every dinner service

    • Thanks for this, I thought that's the case already but just wanted to confirm… it sounds like it's better not to get on a cruise when they are too young then… I will go Fuji or Bali instead where I have access to nanny easily. Thanks a lot!

Can you hire a private babysitter

        I will go Fuji

It is very expensive for Japanese people to sit on babies

        • HuH? They're gonna take some photos of some apples - what are you on about?

Carnival has been in the news a lot lately - and not in a positive way.

whats your 2 yr old kid gunna get out of it?
    ZERO…….

ask Carnival Cruise lines not OzBargain.

  • If only they had a FAQ page that covered this question off…. Oh wait, they do!

  • Why
    Ask
    Here

  • Kids are reduced rate but sometimes they have "kids sail free" promo (they just had one that recently ended). They won't let you in a doubles room with a kid… The room needs to also cater for the kid as I understand

1yo won't be able to join any kids clubs. So they'll need to be accompanied and looked after.

    Don't know about babysitter

As others have mentioned, best advice ull get is from the cruiseliner themselves.

    Good luck and have fun!
