Anyone have a OnePlus 5T? Is it worth it?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the OnePlus 5t? Currently have the OnePlus 3 and looking to upgrade. Have had no complaints with the 3.. But the 5T is certainly a price jump to what I paid for the 3. Just wondering if it's worth it or should I go for a note 8 or something more mainstream?

I got the 5T through the vaya eBay store and I am loving it … I use the face unlock feature all the time ! Very responsive phone, very sleek and durable (so far lol) the only thing that annoys the hell out of me is the fact that I have large fingers and tend to hit the middle button on the menu a lot when I am going for the space button (which minimises all applications and goes to the main screen) … you have the option of auto hiding the menu buttons but I don’t like that either lol.. will look at another keyboard that’s bigger later ….. my wife has had a play with my phone and now wants one for herself :)

  • I've had it for a few days, its great overall. Way better than the S7 edge it replaced - its ridiculously fast. Only downside is the camera, its a bit average in low light.

  • It's not much of an upgrade over the OnePlus 3… except for BAND 28 !!!

I've still got a oneplus one! Still going strong as hell.

With regards to the one plus 5t, I know multiple people that have got one and they allll love it. It seems much better than a Samsung galaxy s8+.

    • Ditto, My OPO is still going strong (well kind of) but the battery life is awful - not even half a day.
But what do you expect after almost 3 years of extreme use… its my backup phone now.

I'd say if Band 28 is not necessary then go with OP3T, almost identical performance but you will save $$

Hands down the best android phone out there. I prefer the look and feel of the OnePlus 5T to other flagships from Samsung, Google, LG etc.

The only minus point would be the camera which is inferior to the likes of the Pixel2 XL. But its still shoots pretty good photos for my purposes.

  • upgraded from 6P, first ever time using 1+, it's good, more features and faster of course. Nothing special

  • changed to 5t from S8, i have been a long time samsung customer. the performance is better, as it seems more responsive, but only by a few yards. I do miss some of the galaxy apps, like email which were sort of embedded in the phone, which an after market app isn't. the fingerprint sensor is so much better placed than s8. I don't use the face unlock as i don't trust this technology yet. the biggest difference is the camera. the low light performance of s8 is so much better, i do miss the camera now and then. Also the editing apps and the things that come as part of samsung offering. So from a performance perspective its slightly better than s8, however from the apps perspective, if you are in the samsung app system, you will miss those.
