Pay Pal protection

Will PayPal protect me if my order from treeet.com.au never turns ups. I'm thinking of putting in a fairly large order with them.

Edit:
Anyone have any comments about treeet.com.au themselves?

I'll be honest, I've seen more losses than wins from Paypal with regard to protection for purchasers in ebay purchases…so I'd be wary of putting too much faith in their claims! That said, it is better than nothing at all I suppose!

Given the choice on a large transaction, I'd pay a little more an use a retailer that I feel comfortable with…just IMHO! ;)

a year ago i would have said, yes sure. but paypal has got worse over time through greed.

paypal protection seems to be an oxymoron :P

imo run it through your credit card company, atleast they have proper charge back procedures.

I think i'll be dropping paypal completly very soon.

  • Paypal is very meh. an it takes AGES
paypal through ebay is slightly better

credit card company is your best protection.

  • Yeah, agreed with Davo and photonaturally. Don't rely on PayPal's protection, as this is almost non-existent for transactions outside eBay.

But as a customer, I personally would prefer paying via PayPal using my credit card where available. I've come across many sites (few are big companies too) that breaches PCI compliance, hence I always try to avoid disclosing my credit card details where possible. If something goes wrong and depending on your credit card provider, you may still be able to do a charge back when PayPal fails to help.

  • Credit card chargeback is the best especially for downloadable products as they don't cover those. Recently purchased a module from WP and its riddled with problems. Asked for a refund and am still waiting for an answer. If they say now i know where to go.

  • Ensure you read the T & C's regarding your credit card company's chargeback policy. Banks like CBA does not support chargebacks if paid via paypal using credit card.

Experienced this issue when an item failed to arrive after several weeks and paid through paypal using credit card (item purchased from e-tailer, not ebay) so had to lodge a dispute with paypal. Waited about 5 days and paypal claim found in my favour, refunded in full. So there's still hope =)
