so baggage and meals are not included.

    what else is excluded? seats?

    It's a pretty long flight without food…

Do they include drinks at least?

    • +3

You can go on a free diet!

  • Might want to read reviews before purchasing…

    • Yeah these are all accurate too. It's a horrible airline which could be made a tiny bit better if just 5% more expensive.

    25kg of luggage is $82 a sector …… So $328.

    • So $328.

Per person… So $1300 extra for a family of 4 just for the luggage !!!!

Apparently you have to pay for water too…

          $4 for a small water.

          330ml…

          $12.12 per litre for water… BARGAIN !!!

          @jv:
Free from the tap, silly head.

      • I once tried to make them give me water for free they said no, I said it is to take medication they gave me 15ml

All the cabin crew was really young

      • So, taking 1 person SYD-ATH return, it'll be $785+$328=$1113. Then if you say take 2 meal packages at $17 each, that'll be $1147. And you still won't get any extra water in between. A full service airline with 30kg luggage, drinks, snacks, and no attitude is only a bit more. I know what I would choose.

        • You'd need at least 2 x main meals on the 13 hour Athens sector. ….. Not to mention drinks. You'd need to drink at least 1 litre of water on each sector…..those water bottles are 250ml at $4 each.

And yes, the staff are a pack of moody, unattractive 20yo's, obviously bitter about not getting picked up by full service carrier.

          Give be AirAsia any day.

        • @ash2000: The meal package comes with a 200ml drink and a snack, but sure, matching the full service only makes the difference even less. Also the food was meh.

Terrible deal but why is food and baggage the end all for everyone.

I’ve done a few LCC ten hour flights, they don’t mind you filling up your water bottle in the galley, plus environment. Air food is usually terrible anyway, took power bars. Eat before you go.

If you’re going somewhere warm like Greece what’s the need for the baggage done multiple month+ trips on carry on

Think this is for the no frills budget traveler. If you don’t care you can save a bit of money rather than taking full service.

        • Qatar, for example, is doing SYD-ATH from $1175 without all this malarkey. So this isn't as good a deal as it looks.

          @greenpossum:

          1175 - 785 = $390

That’s a lot of accomodation, meals, beer.

I’m not a glamorous traveller. As long as you get me there I don’t really care.

What is nonsense about carrying your own water and bringing some of your own food.

What I think is nonsense is using eight pieces of single use plastic.

@Jacoby: Re food and drink, looks like you haven't encountered Scoot staff. An attendant told off, unprovoked, a fellow passenger for simply having a bottle of water in the seat pocket. Fortunately nowadays I don't need to scrimp on holidays. Those days are behind me, hahaha.

        • @greenpossum:

Probably as bad as the mood of the attendants on Jetstar red-eyes! Lol

Don’t need to scrimp, hopefully one day when my backpacking days are behind me.

What is nonsense about carrying your own water and bringing some of your own food.

That is included in your carry on luggage weight allowance…

        • @jv:

A bottle of water in your hand?
          500g of food.

          Huge

        • @Jacoby:

A bottle of water in your hand?
          500g of food.
          Huge

          yep, that's 1.5kg of your 10kg allowance…

        • +1

          @jv:

Your bag is weighed at check in.
You can’t take liquids through customs.
An empty bottle weighs what? 50 grams?
Buy it on the other side of customs? not weighed

          one twentieth of your allowance.

        • @Jacoby:

You can’t take liquids through customs.

          Yes you can.

        • @jv:

Oh yeah I forgot. I shall take ten 100ml bottles of water

        • +2

@Jacoby: a few Cliff bars solve all. First meal at destination will be great.

        • @thevofa:

I’d take a choc mint or peanut butter Clif bar over aeroplane food any day.

        • @Jacoby:

I shall take ten 100ml bottles of water

          That's what I do.

        • @jv:

          Evian?

        • @Jacoby:

          Evian?

          No, Yarra Valley…

awesome deal. heading to Greece in Summer would be fantastic and require only carry on. take your own food. fill up a waterbottle before boarding = done.

  • Cheap, but compare the prices against full-service airlines.
Singapore Airlines + SilkAir for $140 more. And you get a whole lot extra.

  • Scoot can be a good deal if you don’t have bags, but those bag fees kill it for me. False economy.

    Thanks for posting however.

  • Any deals on Paris for end of May 18?
