These are not comparable to nanos or metcon. But good bargain none the less. Hard to find oly shoes.

Completely different use. Nano / Metcon are general / all purpose shoes. These are strictly for squatting to give you a stable platform. I wouldn't deadlift in these shoes.

      • I need only one shoe for both squatting and DL. DO you think nike metcon will do the job for both?

Go true OB and just take your shoes off, can't get much more low profile than that. Otherwise I have nano's and just put plates under the heel if I want.

        • Yes.. Metcon is good for both.. However after trying oly shoes for squat… I will not go back… Metcon is still my choice for everything else.

        • @nmachine: This is what I have been doing now

Try before you buy. I own the metcon and nanos, and would never use them for squat or deadlift, especially the metcons.

Since you've been going barefoot you're probably used to hard platforms, and might not like the metcons.

@nmachine: This is actually good advice (not just an OzB pro tip). Squatting and deadlifting in the wrong type of shoe can affect form. Running shoes are crap due to the excessive movement and cushioning. You're actually better off barefoot since the squat / deadlift is a "static" type of lift. Dynamic movements (like box jumps or walking lunges) a running shoe is sufficient.

        • @hippocrit: Thanks Will try both

  • Nano 8's are already out? I'd love these if I can find store stock - really need to try on oly shoes - they're either great or downright awful and nowhere in between.

    • They are definitely out. That's why nano 7 is like half price atm in rebel.

Metcon 4 also out.. Tried it on but it's much tougher mid foot for some reason

      • Yeah tried on some nano 7's and they were absolutely awful fit for me - felt more stable than the metcons as they seem wider, but not enough room in the top of the shoe unless I sized up and then they were way too long. I fit the metcon well but they are expensive for what they are I think. Going to try and try these and some nano 8s on - really just need something for squatting as I've been destroying converse left and right when I torque my knees and hips out. I can hit depth no worries in a flat shoe but keen to try a heel and see how it feels.

These might do the trick. Personally for me, I either squat in lifting shoes or go barefoot.

I use these for squats and they are awesome.

    • Same here.
Got them on release, worth it.

  • So should I get this or stick with my Adipowers?

Stick with em I'd say unless they are starting to look a bit haggard
