Recs for durable folding umbrellas in particular?

It's pretty rainy this weekend in Brisbane, and my $5 Daiso brolly has a collapsed spoke.

If you consider the risk of losing an umbrella, and that they will have some wear and tear over the years, I think mid range is the way to go.
I have a Shelta folding umbrella that was $20 at a chemist on a rainy day. IT has lasted 5 years or so. https://shelta.com.au/rain-mens/6722-mini-maxi/

Prior to that I had a Shelta Ambassador that lasted about 8 years. https://shelta.com.au/rain-mens/6560-ambassador-windproof-au…
    It was $25.
I keep mine in my work bag, so they get banged around a lot more than if you only take them when it looks rainy.
I looked at some very nice umbrellas that cost $100 (e.g Blunt). They look more durable, and very sturdy, but it is hard to see them lasting 25 years+ to make them worth the money.

    3 pack Woodworm umbrella.
Haven't seen a deal on them in a while.
xiaomi deals have killed the woodworm deals.

    • Woodworm are good umbrellas to keep at home or back of the car but are not every day umbrellas.
Also, as I have experienced and i think others have also mentioned in other threads they are not good in windy conditions.

I have always used and liked Clifton umbrellas. Their hurricane model is very serious and sturdy.

  • Always been interested in one of these myself. James Smith & Sons umbrella makers in London since 1830

Not the answer you're looking for, but you did ask for best.

  • Check out the Wire Cutter's recommendations. I'm considering getting one of their suggestions.

My current foldable umbrella is a Gustbuster Metro, I think. It has served me well over the last five years. It is showing some wear but is still more or less functional. Nonetheless, I'm thinking of getting a different brand for my next one.

  • How about an engraved Malacca Flask?

  • Bunnings or BMW one

Or anything from a good men's clothing store in England.

  • I was going to order one of these for ~AU$40 delivered.

I haven’t used one before but I have heard good things about them. Unfortunately the lifetime warranty isn’t valid in Australia.

  • Blunt umbrellas are good in terms of quality but they're pretty expensive at around $90 and the foldable one has quite a small diameter so I ended up returning mine.
