The charger is 120v according to comments on Amazon, so would require a step down transformer to use here.

    • Excellent clipper pity it's 120v. Will be great if you can charge via usb.

      • yep, 120 v kills the deal like many electrical items from the usa for their domestic market …….

wanted to get wahl clippers form usa ….. all were 120v, from europe was same price as local so bought local.

    • That's What I reckon at first but then I proceed to asked the Amazon Support team and they said that the voltage input for the charger is 110v-240v, So it should be universal

Didn't read through all the comments on Amazon, but someone said it was also 220 or 24V. It should be universal, but I wouldn't trust the Amazon support toooo much, sometimes they have no idea what they are talking about. Once I had a problem with an order and I got a better product, free shipping and the best part was I wasn't entitled to get it. I guess since their English was chinglish.

If you got the name and it turns out it isn't universal, you can go back to Amazon and say, he/she told me it was universal.

Contacted Amazon as I'm actually interested in the device, they couldn't confirm specs of the charger for me - just told me to contact the manufacturer.

Going to pass on it since the comments on the product page don't fill me with confidence, but hope it works out for you. Shame though, good price and interested in getting one now.

      • I bought mine (very similar model - Rapid Cut Hair Clipper) here in Australia and the charger is not universal, 220V only.

Charger output is 4.5V 1500mA, so I'm guessing you can replace it with a 1.5A USB charger, just need to swap the cord.

        • Can you use normal phone charger which is 5v (Just buy the compatible cord at jaycar) , I reckon 10% difference in voltage doesnt do any harm to the hair clipper.

  • Sinead O'Connor approves this deal.

    • … and so does Larry David apparently.

      • He looks more like a "Just a little off the sides" type IMO.

      • Larry David does not care if people think he's bald.

  • Actual Price $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

    Jaycar wins.

Did anyone else think this was some sort of helmet that you stick your head in and somehow cuts your hair?

That's the only reason I clicked on this deal. To see the self cutting machine.

I reckon it attach to your undies and cut those bushy lawn

  • Alot of the time chargers for things are fine just to get a aus to us pin converter. They usually take 110v to 240v cos it's only charging a battery. I got a US lithium clippers and it can handle both 110v and 240v. But I could be wrong with this one.

  • My "guess" is that it will work and I'm basing that on the fact that the clippers can be bought in Aus.

Unless I've linked to the wrong model?

    It's not multi voltage!
    From Amazon answers:
These days, electronics are expected to work on both 110V and 220 V outlets, but this one does not. Nowhere was this mentioned.
Now I have a dead unit.

    • Buggar, I can't edit my post above.

I have however upvoted your post, having missed your initial post further up the thread.
