Cheap Gaming Chairs. Are They Worth It?

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/252496075412?ul_noapp=true

Has anyone bought one of these cheap gaming chairs?

Is it worth the money? I play for long hours but only about 2 days a week. Every night I usually just play 1 hour.

I don't think it's worth it for me to pay 300-500 for a chair when I don't play that often. Or am I wrong?

Herman Miller Aeron are about $1500 ea new, but I picked one up about 6 years ago second hand for $400.
It's as good as the day I bought it and I couldn't be happier with it.

If you can get something like this for a few hundred, I'd say that's a better choice than a new cheap chair.

I bought one, though I'll admit it was closer to $100 and I reckon looked a little nicer. Honestly loved it, think it works well, really comfortable for me to sit on all the time, was really happy.

But in saying that I'm very chill with my chair and for most of my life sat on chairs completely made of metal (dad was a boilermaker and welder) so I'm probably less worried then most.

If you expect to keep the chair for many years though (or if you move around a lot) might be worth the few extra hundo though for something nice and comfortable (and ergonomic!).

    • Thanks. I don't expect it to last too long and probably won't move at all in the next couple of years. I might just go for this one.

2nd hand leather lazyboy could be had for the price your going to spend… might be worth it if you find one that's been looked after and not farted on too much.

Those tend to work quite well for years but the ones that have the cushion on the arm rests tend to go flat.

As long as your expectations are reasonable. I'm sure they'd smoke anything for $150 from Officeworks!

    • i got a $200 from office works and Its actually pretty comfortable. Had it for about 3 ish years now. Still going strong.

Couch if you are a laid back gamer, office type chair if you are competitive. I still play csgo sitting in a couch, made a custom desk to suit the couch that swings out to one side so i can get out easily.

If you are gaming for long hours - I'd recommend an expensive office chair - min $400… if you like the look of gaming chairs sure, go for it, but they won't have most of the features and you won't be getting the most of out of it for the price.

Gaming for short hours - I, myself game about 4-5hrs a week. Doing work in between. I'm currently using s cheap 'bathurst gaming chair' from office works. $150, didn't expect much, now I've got squeaky noises when I lean on it, screws falling apart and foam has gone flat. I've had it for about 1.5-3yrs now I reckon.

So in conclusion - if you're looking for a cheap 'gaming' chair, the only thing that makes it expensive is the brand name, and sometimes the look of it etc, totally up to you if you like what they are. If you want more comfort I would totally go for an office chair. Even some cheap ones have way more bang for their buck rather than cheap gaming chairs.
