Where Can I Purchase The Oculus Rift in Melbourne?

Hello.

I am looking to buy the Oculus Rift (or a similar VR set) for my son's 16th birthday.

I went to a local retailer in Melbourne's North and they had no idea where one would go to purchase the Oculus. My question is what is the best place to purchase it in terms of price and reliability of shipping? And secondly is the Oculus one of the better VR systems on the market in terms of quality, and also health (protecting your eyes and brain) LOL….Yes I'm a mom so I worry.

    Anyway I'd just order it from Amazon and if it doesn't arrive in time then give him a card with the order confirmation so he knows it's coming.

    The best place to purchase an Oculus Rift would be from the official Oculus website at https://www.oculus.com/
    That way, you get warranty and support. It should take less than a week to arrive.

    Please note that your son must have a computer that's powerful enough to run the Rift.

      As akaakmdm said - make sure your son has a powerful enough PC. Here are the minimum requirements for the oculus rift -

      NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater.
      Intel i5-4590 processor equivalent or greater.
      8GB+ RAM.
      Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output.
      2 USB 3.0 ports.
      Windows 7 SP1 or newer.

      Double check with your son his PC specifications. Reply back with them to see if it is good enough.
