Are You Happy with Xiaomi Mi Max 2?

Hi people who bought a Xiaomi Mi Max 2 when they were on sale a few months ago.

I'm wondering how you're liking the
Mi Max 2… If it's met your expectations, any surprises etc.
Anything you'd like to share about your experience with it.. Do you wish you'd waited for the next model….
Tia.

Had mine for some time, 128gb model.

Honestly, I love this phone. Battery still lasts literally days and I've had it since launch. Seems considerably more durable than my mi Max 1.

It does lack NFC. Outside of phone payments, I'm not sure I really care about NFC, though having it would be nice.

The screen is if course why you would get one of these. It's excellent, large, and very bright. Best phone I've had in direct sunlight.

Only reason i would upgrade is if the screen got bigger. Otherwise this phone hasn't shown any signs of being obsolete.

My only issue is that it seems to get quite hot when using GPS on Google maps.

Every single device I've owned got quite hot during active GPS use. I blame the sun hitting the windshield and the cellular radio.

      • Mine is hidden away, connected to the cars entertainment screen using Android auto. So sun doesn't seem to be a factor.

But yeah.. all my phone's have got hot using GPS in car, but this is the first not being hit by sunlight 😋

    Don’t like it
    Don’t own it

  • Great phone, especially the big screen and battery life. I'd prefer though if it was just a tad smaller and lighter…they are quite heavy.

    no

  • Thanks for the comments. Seems like heat is an issue (with my 4X also).

    Anyone else?

  • I'm happy to read more comments on this phone from those who own them. Eg: if there's anything that irks you about it, the things that you like best about it, were you able to get used to the size easily or is it just too big?

Size is nice for me. Fits in pockets, but quite limited single hand control.
The original Max had a multicolor notification light, while this is just white, which I miss.

Biggest irk is that the camera really isn't great in any form of low light. Bright light it's great, but even typical indoor light causes blur and noise. Useless on darker areas. Easily weakest part of phone.

It's great for movies and YouTube. I flew to China (~roughly 11 hours) and watched 9 hours off movies on it, quite bright and using Bluetooth headphones - only used 40% of the battery.

Uhh… Honestly I've mentioned everything I dislike. Great phone.
