  • How is this compared to the Yamaha YAS107?

    • +1

YAS107 likely has a bit clearer sound but SB250 has much better bass.

  • The JBL450 and 350 is also on special. Down 50% I believe

    • Thanks. Added to post.

Just be aware the 250 doesn’t have HDMI ARC, so no controlling it through your TV or connected device remotes.

    • ARC stands for Audio Return Channel which isn't anything to do with remote control. It just means you can use one HDMI cable for sound instead of optical. You're thinking of HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control). The SB250 actually doesn't have that either but it can learn from remotes, so you can still just use the one.

If it doesn't have HDMI ARC, it's OBVIOUSLY not going to have HDMI CEC, and the benefits this brings (auto power on/off as another example).

You're right though that it can learn TV remotes and the like, but some TV's are going to have their volume changing as well.

  • We’re considering the 450 or the 350. We only have a smaller size lounge room so I think the 350 would do. Not sure if I can justify spending the extra $200 for the better sound bar
